Beloved Community Center is seeking 35 field & phone canvassers (part time) who can assist with our non-partisan Get-Out-the-Vote campaign. We want people who are articulate, teachable and self-disciplined. You must have a passion for social, racial, and economic justice. The Beloved Community Center will focus on two hot-button issues; the need for a Police Citizens Review Board with subpoena power, and economic development in Southeast Greensboro. We have immediate openings that can begin as early as September 14th. This is a VOLUNTEER, UNPAID position that will last approximately 8 weeks. Paid opportunities with the Beloved Community Center may become available in the future. Job Duties include door-to-door canvassing, administering a telephone survey, voter education, community building/organizing and research assistance and data collection. Canvassers will receive training and will be provided with a script that highlights essential points to make during door-to-door interactions. Canvassers are asked to commit to work at least three of the available shifts, but may work as many as possible. Shifts last four (4) hours and occur on SATURDAYS (10:00am-2:00pm). Available Shifts

There may be weekday opportunities if you have volunteered with Beloved Community in the past.

This is a short-term project that is expected to end by November 9 th. This project is great for college students or high school seniors needing Service Learning hours or volunteer course credit.

Mandatory Job Qualifications

Canvassers- No Experience Required. Come with eagerness and a willingness to learn. Canvassers must also have reliable transportation and be willing to attend any mandatory training.
