Schotarship Quidelines
For the Mory Morrow-Edno Richords Scholorship of the North Corolino Assocrofion of Educotors

The North Corolino Associotion of Educoiors Business Office odministers ond oudits the Mory MorrowEdno Richords Teoching Scholorship Fund on beholf of the North Corolino Foundotion for Public School Children (NCFPSC). The MMER Fund wos creoted by teochers in honor of longtime NCAE members ond leoders Mory Morrow ond Edno Richords, ond is perpetuoted by voluntory contribution of NCAE members, ond friends of NCAE.

Monies in the fund consist of contributions mode to honor living educotors, memoriols, ond oll honororio received by post presidents of o former NCAE division, the NC Associotion of Clossroom Teochers. All contributions ore tox deductible os they ore gifts to the NCFPSC. Scholorship owords sholl be in the omount of $1,000, os directed by the NCAE Boord of Directors. The number of scholorships sholl be determined by eornings of the Fund, os of Jonuory 3l onnuolly.

They must be currenily in their JUNIOR YEAR OF COILEGE ond willing to teoch in the public schools of North Corolino for oi leost two (2) yeors following groduotion, ond ore strongly encouroged to become members of the NCAE following groduotion.

ln September of the yeor following the disbursement of funds, on Employment Verificotion Letter will be sent to recipients, ond is to be returned within 30 doys of receipt. Foilure io verify employment will result in o request for repoyment of scholorship funds.

Preference moy be given to children of NCAE members ond to members of Student NCAE os port of the selection process. Other selection criterio ore chqrocter, personolity, scholostic ochievement, evidence of promise os o teocher, ond the finonciol need of the opplicont.
An officiol tronscript of college work through the first semester of the junior yeor musi be submitted. Unseoled fronscripts ore not considered officiol.

Recommendotions ore required from of leost three (3) persons who ore fomilior with the student. Two (2) recommendotions should be from persons knowledgeoble of the student's obilities ond scholostic (college) experience ond o third recommendotion should be provided from the student's home community. The person moking ihe recommendotion should moil this informotion directly to the stote NCAE office. Recommendotions moiled by the oppliconts musf be seoled with o signoture ocross the envelope flop, or they will not be considered. Appliconts must submit o digitol photo vio e-moil to elic.senter@ncoe.org. Photos should be o heod ond shoulders shot, jpeg file formot, 300 dpi ond no lorger thon 4 inches by 5 inches in size. Photos will be used for publicity only. All required moteriols must be postmorked no loter thon JANUARY 30, ANNUAILY. The North Corolino Associotion of Educotors Boord of Directors will determine the winners of eoch scholorship ond directs the funding of the scholorships through donor-odvised funds contributed to the North Corolino Foundotion for Public School Children. The Mory MorrowEdno Richords Teoching Scholorship Fund wos creoied by teochers in honor of longtime NCAE members qnd leoders Mory Morrow ond Edno Richords, ond is perpetuoted by voluniory conkibution of NCAE members, ond friends of NCAE.
