Keywords Article
The information that identifies a book or article. Information for a book usually includes the author, title, publisher, and date. The citation for an article includes the author, title of the article, title of the periodical, volume, pages, and date.
Current periodicals
The latest or most recent issues of journals and magazines that the library receives.
Footnotes
Notes (or a statement explaining the text or indicating the basis for an assertion or the source of material quoted) that appear at the foot of a page of text.
Format
A type of periodical containing popular articles, which are usually shorter or less authoritative than journal articles on the same subject.
Newspaper
A serial issued at stated, frequent intervals (i.e., daily, weekly, or semiweekly), containing news, opinions, advertisements, and other items of current, often local, and interest.
Masthead/title The title on the newspaper used to attract peoples attention. Typography The fonts and sizes of text used throughout the newspaper. Headline The main story on the front of a newspaper, which should attract peoples attention in order to make them purchase the paper and want to read more about it. By-line Expands on key factual points from the headline. Banner Used to promote particular articles inside, making the person want to read more about these articles. Number of articles The number of articles used usually depends on how much serious news there is during the time that that newspaper was published. There are usually three main articles on the front page of a newspaper. Pictures Pictures are used to illustrate the headlines with the shock factor that make people want to read more about the article.
Advertisements An image or selection of words placed into a newspaper advertising a product or company to produce revenue for the newspaper printers.
