Dear Friend, I think we can all agree that the challenges our state faces are real and that they require bold solutions and fast action. Thats why we are supporting Tom Cross for State Treasurer and we are asking you to join us with a signicant contribution to his effort, today. As House Republican Leader, Tom Cross was one of the rst public ofcials to recognize the warning signs of our states pension problem and then offer a real, comprehensive solution to reform the pension systems. Many of us worked with Tom on this issue and saw rst-hand his dedication and passion towards nding a solution. In addition to his commitment to pension reform, Tom also fought for a tougher balanced budget amendment, he led the effort to crack down on fraud and abuse within the pension systems and he opposed efforts that would raise income taxes, tax retirement income, increase the inheritance tax or implement a graduated income tax. In short, Tom Cross has stood with us for critical economic and scal reforms and he is exactly the type of person we need to have representing us as our next Treasurer. As our next Treasurer, Tom has already outlined initiatives he would pursue that include an Ofce of Bond Auditing and a Public Pension Review Committee to ensure our state meets full compliance. Tom would also create the Ofce of Budget Review to ensure the legislature complies with the States Balanced Budget Act and to end the practice of budgetary gimmicks that have created the nations worst budget decit. As we head into the 2014 cycle, Tom Cross is the exactly the type of scal conservative, reform-minded candidate we need on the ballot with our Republican candidate for Governor. They would make a strong ticket, a ticket that can win. We know Tom will work tirelessly and run a smart, solid campaign, but he needs all of our help. Toms opponent will have the full backing of every public labor union and pro-tax organization as he and Tom are near polar opposites on every economic issue.
