Vacation Colors

We used Triad Harmony, because for vacation, a user prefers to have a lot of varieties and choices. A rational user likes to see a difference between his/her routine life and the vacation. Triad harmony provides such variation for us, by using three complementary colors all together in users view. We tried to find colors which can represent summer, because we believe summer is the season in which everybody goes to vacation. So, we tried to use warm colors, like (255, 81, 0) and (255, 171, 131), to show how the vacation can be warm and joyful. We selected white to show a lot of light. We believe vacation provides the opportunity for everybody to go out, and enjoy the sun light. Thats why we tried to show a lot of light. We selected blue to show the blueness of sky and sea. These are the parts of nature that people usually pay attention to over vacation. We selected green to show the nature. Many people like to go to the heart of nature and breathe the greenness and freshness of it.

Dream Colors

We chose analogous harmony because we thought in a usual dream we see colors which have an analogous harmony with each other. When we think of dream, it usually comes with vague, grey, and gloomy images. We hardly remember the details in our dreams, but we can recall some impressed moment in dream. When the dream is happy, joyful, we think of light purple with a little of pink like color (113,79,117) to show the delighted mood. When the dream is horrible, danger, hate, the color is usually very dark and close to black like (30,26,36). The color makes people feel extremely stressful in dreams. And sometime when we are not the main character in our dream, we feel objective and indifferent about the dream. The color (53,53,105) represents the calm feeling. While we are trying to recall our dream, sometimes we cannot remember the detail, the scene is vague and the color is like light grey (133,140, 148). We used (77, 114, 117) to show freeness in our dream, without any border you can go beyond the reality in your imagination.

Hope Colors

We selected complementary harmony, because we believe when we hope, we want to focus on something that we like to happen, like our goal. From another point of view, we like everything else in the background to be calm, not distracting our beautiful hope or dream. We selected three different bluish colors to design the background. The differences will help us to design all components in the background of the hope, and easily distinguish them without any need of other colors. From another point of view, blue is often associated with depth and stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven. More importantly blue slows human metabolism and produces a calming effect. Blue is strongly associated with tranquility and calmness. In heraldry, blue is used to symbolize piety and sincerity. Thats why we used blue as background color to calm down the user and help him/her focus on the hope. Orange combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. It is associated with joy, sunshine, and the tropics. Orange represents enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success, encouragement, and stimulation. This is exactly the color that we need to show someones hope. We used two different saturations of orange to make enough contrast to be able to draw the hope, and shape different parts of it.
