CAPITAL REPORTING ACCOUNTANT

Lac La Biche County has an opening for the full-time, permanent position of Capital Reporting
Accountant. Reporting to the Manager of Finance, this position will perform professional
financial analysis for the Corporate Services department of Lac La Biche County.

The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
• Develop and prepare financial and statistical reports;
• Assist in the development and maintenance of internal control and general accounting
systems;
• Maintain the general ledger for various County funds in accordance with governmental
accounting principles, County policies and bylaws;
• Assist in the preparation of Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and Compliance and
Statutory reports;
• Maintain the tracking of capital project activity;
• Instrumental role in the preparation and coordination of annual financial audit;
• Perform a wide range of municipal accounting functions;
• Provide direction pertaining to the work of technical and clerical employees;

Qualifications:
• Accounting Designation of CA, CMA, CGA or Degree in Finance or working towards a
financial designation;
• Minimum 3 years in a senior finance role, including supervisory experience;
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel;
• Superior analytical, organizational, and communications skills;
• Previous municipal/government experience would be an asset;
• Self motivated;

Salary Range is $51,228.32 - $63,408.49 per annum; Level 4 on Administrative, Professional

and Support Positions Grid. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Lac La Biche County offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, including a
