One convention thats used in the music video for saviour by rise against is the star image. During the music video, the band appear for most of the music video, and are shown playing their instruments and being a stereotypical rock band by constantly moving and rocking about the set. This could suggest that the band want their audience to see them as a sort of recognition for writing the song, or possibly because a stereotypical rock music video features a heavy use of the band, and the director felt the need to keep the stereotype in strong use.

Another convention thats used in the music video for saviour by rise against is the use of narrative and performance. Throughout the music video, the performance features people dressed in animal costumes, such as bears elephants and dogs, who begin to mosh pit. This could possibly link to the songs lyrics, which are thats when she said I don't hate you boy, I just want to save you while there's still something left to save. The lyrics suggest that the song is about a couple who were in love but break up due to the males self-destructive tendencies, and the people in animal costumes mosh pitting are a metaphor for the males emotions, which are constantly fighting each other.

The killers-Mr Brightside

One convention thats used in the music video of Mr Brightside by the killers is the use star image and narrative and performance throughout the entire video. Throughout the entire music video, the band are featured as not only the star image, but also as the main focus for the performance and narrative, for example, the performance of the song focuses on a woman who appears to jump from different men, such as the lead singer and another man, suggesting that although the focus is wanted on the band and the lead singer, the director also wants the focus to be on the woman of the video, who the performance is about throughout the video.

Another convention thats used in the music video for Mr Brightside by the killers is the relations of visuals to song. For example, throughout the video, the focus is on the main woman, and her jump between two men, the lead singer of the band, and another older gentleman, this can possibly be shown by the lyrics But shes touching his chest now, He takes off her dress now, Let me go, And I just cant look its killing me, And taking control which could possibly suggest that the thought of another man touching this woman drives the lead singer crazy, which is shown by the main woman getting physical with the older gentleman.

Razorlight-in the morning

One convention that is used in the music video for in the morning by razorlight is the use of star image. Throughout the entire music video, the focus is mostly on the band and its lead singer. This could possibly be because the band are an indie rock/pop band, and a stereotype of that genre is that the music video always features the band, and focuses heavily on the bands lead singer, and also usually links him to the main narrative, such as with most of Ed Sheerans music video, such as drunk.

Another convention that is used in the music video for in the morning by razorlight is the use of the technical aspects, such as the camera angles used. In the music video, the camera angles include close up shots of the bands lead singer and the band, worms eye views up towards the band, and panning shots of the location, which is a dance floor with a stage. This could suggest that the music video uses camera angles to keep the audiences focus on the band and what they are doing throughout the video, and also to show their status and power through the use if angles, such as worm eye views.
