Company rules and procedures are establish with good solid reasoning behind them, and by law employer is responsible for provide to employees with a safe place to work and every employee must understand these rules and procedures and the importance of following them every time. Safety is a shared responsibility, employer provide a safe environment, employees are expect to arrive at work in the proper physical condition to perform the job as were trained to do it. Failure to work safety, like any other major violation of company rules, can be reason for discipline or termination of employment. Because in most cases, when employees dont follow the rules might cause accident. Accident is unexpected events that result in injury to an employee, illness, or damage to property. In addition to follow rules and procedures it is employees responsibility to report any dangerous behavior or conditions that might have been overlooked during an inspection. In other words, the elimination of unsafe conditions and unsafe behavior should be daily concerns for every person in a company. Companies establish safety program to help ensure employees safety on the job and some of the more important elements are follow: Safety committees: offers a place to go with question, complains and concern to safety issues, and must companies are former for employees and employer representatives. New employee orientation: the safety message in a plant should be communicated to all employees in specially to new hired employees and given the basic safety information like location of medical care, method of reporting injuries, location of fire and emergency equipment, house keeping requirements, safety rules and so on. Bulletin board (communication): it is a good way to remind employees safety message such as plant safety rules, plant emergency plan and map, method of obtaining emergency care. Training: knowing how to do your job properly will help employees perform job safely and should be on going in all areas, like machine safety, use forklift and cranes, first aid and CPR, MSDS, etc. Incentive programs: in some companies use incentive program to encourage safe work habits and it is based in hours worked without an injury. Unsafe acts and unsafe conditions The majority of the injuries on the job are the result of unsafe act, although no every unsafe act can result in accident, the problem is that we never know when one unsafe habit will become in a accident. No wearing required protective equipment, operating any equipment without properly trained, use unsafe or dangerous equipment or machinery, failing to call attention to the unsafe acts of others. In addition to avoiding unsafe acts, make it a habit to keep your eyes open to unsafe conditions such as broken tools or defective, dangerous work surfaces, unsafe clothing or protective device. Before you can eliminate unsafe conditions, someone must first identify them. Inspecting the workplace on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis is necessary to identify unsafe conditions and recognizing hazards condition with the potential to cause injury. Those hazards conditions can be electrical hazard, chemical hazards, mechanical hazards, and health hazards. With this in mind we can says one of the best ways to prevent accidents is to understand and eliminate their causes. The more you know about accident causes the better equipped you will be to prevent accident. In other hand it is important when an accident occurs initiate an immediate investigation take a place to gather the facts necessary to keep it from happening again, keep in mind that nothing is gained when any accident or injury goes unreported and uncorrected. Consequently facility must be prepare and plan for emergencies such as fires, medical, natural disasters or chemical, as we mention before no one know when a accident is going to happen but everything you learn about working safety on the job can be applied to every day include when you get into your car and when you get home.

Safety Laws
The purpose of the occupational safety and health act is to assure safe and healthful working conditions for workers; by authorizing enforcement of the standards developed under the Act; by assisting and encouraging the States in their efforts to assure safe and healthful working conditions; by providing for research, information, education, and training in the field of occupational safety and health; and for other purposes. If you disregard safety and health rules, your employer has the right to discipline you or even can fired you, because if you not obey the rules you or so one else can be hurt or even killed. OSHA has the authority to regulate each employer which shall furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees; shall comply with occupational safety and health standards. Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to this Act which are applicable to his own actions and conduct.

OSHA standards are rules that are reasonably necessary or appropriate to provide safe or healthful places of employment. The OSHA act list two kinds of standards: the national consensus standards and establish standards. Consensus means agreements which are submitted by national organizations like ANSI, NFPA. Federal standards are standards of the united states government those standards were special safety rules for companies that had government contracts. Those standards are divided into three main groups: general industry, construction, and maritime each group called part is divided into smaller part called subparts which make it easier to find the OSHA standards for a specific industrial process or workplace. It is not practical for OSHA to inspect all the workplaces covered by the Act. Employers and employees therefore must strive for voluntary compliance with the standards. OSHA inspectors will arrive at a facility when there has been a serious accident on a job. They also conduct random inspections, also conduct review of a particular industry and target the industry for special emphasis inspections as a way of determining compliance. However OSHA most frequently conducts inspections in response to written complaints. Another important element that OSHA required certain program to be in place to protect employees these programs are written hazard communications, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), all container must be labeled so that employees can handle chemical safely, and completely inventory of all chemical must be prepared and readily available.
