In Local News. . . A woman was hit by an NJ Transit train in Plainsfield on Friday September 20th,. The victim was struck by the train around 11:40pm that Friday night, the train was headed to Raritan, NJ. The woman suffered minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, the NJ Transit spokeswoman, Nancy Snyder said. The NJ Transit train service was not impacted and none of the 100 passengers aboard the train were injured. The investigation is ongoing. 1 1 1 1 1 1 1

From Plainsfield to Elizabeth. This fall 500 students in Elizabeth from grades pre-k through eight now have another building in which they can build upon their academic skills.

The new school, which they have named Victor Mravlag School Number 21 opened for new students on the first full day of classes on Tuesday September 10. The school has 22 general purpose purpose classrooms, a gymnasium, a cafeteria with a stage, an art studion plus many other features that will help students excell in all areas of academics.

The new Victor Mravlag School Number 21 is just one of seven new planned project that the city of Elizabeth hopes to open in the upcoming years.

In National News. . . Its been only six days but the FBI is still trying to piece together the last weeks of Aaron Alexis life leading up to the events that ended with the death of 12 poeple at the Navy Yard in Washington D.C on Monday. F.B.I. analysts are going through cell phone and e-mail records to find any evidence on what was Alexis mindframe during those weeks. FBI agents from other states have also interviewed Alexis prior co-workers, friends, relatives and any other people that Alexis came in contact in states like Rhode Island, Florida, Texas and New York. This is in an effort so forensic psychiatrists are able to build a profile of who Aaron Alexis was and what was his mind like. In the end investigators hope to finally find a motive for the shootings. Alexis entered the Washington Navy Yard and proceeded to shoot and kill 12 people before being shot and killed by police. The investigations is ongoing and measures of security have been heightened in the area as well as other Navy yards throughtout the nation. 3 3 3 3 3 3 3

Another shooting that left 13 wounded, was in Chicago when an armed man opened fire at a South Side park in the city. Investigators have made no arrest and are uncertain as to if and who was the intended target in the shooting. They have also stated that there might be one gunman or even up to three. Among the injured was a 3 year old boy who was struck in the face but doctors expect him to make a full recovery, along with the other victims. This attack just adds another to a number of attacks that have plagued the city this year. City officers have been deployed all over the city in hopes of reducing the crime rate in the city. Still city leaders are hopful.

In the political world, one state is ready to shake things up. California has never shied away from political controversy, from gay marriage to sex scandals, and now the Golden State can another one to its list. The state is now challenging the historic status of American citizenship. It wants to change the rules, yet again. These new measures will allow noncitizens to serve jury duty and monitor polls during election season, which is coming up. This is an extension of measures from other states that grant noncitizens drivers licenses and offer in state tuitions to these noncitizens.

Although met with much critiscm the state is also recieving praise for finding new ways of intergrating illegal immigrants into the American culture.

In International News. . . In yet another attack on civillians, masked gunmen stormed into a mall in Nairobi, Kenya on Saturday. The gunmen shot dead about 39 people in the mall. The mall, Westgate mall, has become a symbol of Kenyas growing prosperity. Witnesses saw parents throwing their bodies as shields over their children to protect them from the gunshots. Some climbed into small holes like ventalation shafts in order to save themselves as the gunmen stormed throught the mall shooting shoppers in the head. While testifying, witnesses stated they saw the attaackers use AK-47 rifles and even throwing grenades inside the mall. Some of the attackers were arrested while others were murdered. The assailants that remained held hostages. The story is still developing, stay tuned for more breaking news.

In The Yankees beat San Fransisco 6-0 while Tampa Bay triumphed over Baltimore 5-1. In football Kansas City beat the Eagles 26-16 on Thursday night. On Sunday September 22 the Texans face the Ravens at 1pm.

Britney Spears recently announced that her newest album due out December 3rd is her most personal album. Noting that most of the album was inspired by her breakup with ex-fiance Jason Trawick. She said she used the writing and recording process as therapy to move on from the sucky breakup. Spears most recently announced her 2-year residency in Las Vegas with a new show that kicks off December 27 entitles Britney: Piece of Me. Her most recent single Work Work is out on iTunes now!
