Quieridos Amig@s, We are excited to invite you to our first monthly "Xicano Power Brunch," taking place Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Pico de Gallo Restaurant in downtown San Antonio. At the brunch, we will be preparing for the March for Dignity and Respect of Immigrants in the U.S. We will be celebrating the National Day of action by joining the voices of thousands across the country to echo the call to Congress: Pass Common Sense Immigration Reform Now! Following the brunch, attendees are encouraged to meet at 2 pm at Our Lady of the Lake University, corner of 24th and W. Commerce Streets, from there we will march 3/4 of a mile to Rosedale Park. This month, the Bexar County Coalition for Common Sense Immigration Reform calls on our local leaders to address the following issues: how to benefit from the Affordable Care Act, how our leaders and elected officials are working to push the call for immigration reform in Congress, and what they are doing to ensure that low-income and Spanish-speaking communities get access to social services and support. Each speaker will have about 10 minutes to speak, followed by a brief Q & A. Please note, this event is informative and will not be a debate. These monthly meetings bring together civic and elected leaders to discuss issues that affect our community. The goal of the Brunch is to advance the economic condition, educational

attainment, political influence, health and civil rights of Latino and minority populations in the San Antonio area. We would greatly appreciate if you would join us on October 5, 2013.
