PART 1 GENERAL 1.01 Description A. Description of Work Work under this Section consist of furnishing everything necessary for and incidental to the execution and completion of all concrete joint work as shown on drawings and specified herein. 1.02 Quality Assurance A. Applicable Standards Comply with Standards specified under this Section. 1.03 Product Storage A. Storage Store epoxy joint materials in a cool dry place. Replace lids tightly on partially used containers.

During warm weather (80 oF and above) do not mix more material that can be placed within 5 minutes of mixing in a cool weather (51 oF to 70 oF).

Part 3 Execution 3.01 Installation A. Expansion (Isolation) Joints Securely anchor in place preformed compressible expansion joint fillers. B. Construction and Control Joints 1. Form a key with a width of one-third the thickness of the thinner member and a depth of 50 mm unless otherwise shown. Tape a key to facilitate removal of form. Carry all reinforcements thru the joint. Do not remove key or forms until concrete has cured.

Clean key of laitance, curing compound foreign materials and protrusions of hardened concrete before casting abutting work. Epoxy Primer a) Priming is not required, if joints are clean and dry; use primer only if moisture and contaminants cannot be removed effectively. If priming is necessary, brush apply a uniform coat of primer on concrete contact surface only.

Epoxy Filler a) b) c) Dispense epoxy filler from plastic squeeze bottle. Fill joint in two closely succeeding pours Exercise care to prevent overfilling; remove any excess with a straight edge prior to hardening, by grinding after hardening. Fill primed joints within 4 hours of priming and while primer is still tacky; if elapsed time exceeds 4 hours, or primer is no longer tacky, re-prime. Follow additional recommendation of manufacturer.
