This fellowship will be a customised training focusing on strengthening the competencies of mid-to high level officials, mainly from the Economic relations Division of the Bangladeshi Ministry of Finance and selected representatives from service agencies, who are significantly involved in program development and management on sector-wide approach (SWAp). The Fellowship is designed to further develop Imigrasi leadership capacity and border management expertise, fostering a greater shared understanding of cross-government migration management issues and allowing the potential for further skills development with Imigrasi on other cross-cutting immigration priorities. This program offers School Management an opportunity to further develop their leadership capabilities as well as building and developing staff and student resilience. Sustainable school-based approaches to mentoring and professional development strategies will be explored to increase student engagement and educational outcomes. The program will provide fellows with best practices and lessons learnt from successful female Australian entrepreneurs and women-operated Small and Medium Size Enterprises, through a specially developed entrepreneurship, innovation and business sustainability program aimed at building the knowledge, skills and capabilities of female entrepreneurs and small business leaders in Pakistan Two month secondment for two Fellows to learn about the ACCC's competition and consumer protection work and role and structure of the ACCC's InfoCentre.

The Fellows will participate in teaching and training programs at the University of Adelaide and its affilated hospitals - with the intention of skills transfer. Upon return to Myanmar, the Fellows will in a position to promote the building of near term and future capacity in medical education in Myanmar. This project will train key personnel in strategic central government development ministry in: 1) modern management techniques; 2) strategic leadership skills, (3) policy and program development and 4) strategic use of IT for efficient service delivery to achieve a well-coordinated holistical system.

Myanmar: Improving Capacity in International Tax

Through a combination of skills development, expert input and experiential learning, the program aims to improve the capacity of leaders from Vietnams government organisations to improve the quality of research and better align research outputs to inform policy, planning and implementation in coastal resource management and climate change adaptation. The Language Teaching Management Training program aims to build the capacity of Vietnamese Language Program Coordinators within regional Departments of Education and Training to effectively lead and manage the National Priority Program in Teaching and Learning Foreign Languages through targeted professional discipline-specific training in leadership, strategic and project management. The proposed program will provide a comprehensive overview of quantitative research methods for participants from government, non-government and research agencies working in the field of public health in South Asian countries This Fellowship advances regional reform through the development of appropriately trained Cambodian, Indonesian, Mongolian and Vietnamese leaders who can effectively participate in high level decision making processes and efficiently lead national, regional and local policy, programs and projects that promote disability-inclusive and gender sensitive approaches to socio-economic development. The program will contribute towards the establishment of a commercial chamber attached to the current capital and provincial courts of Cambodia. With courses in contract law, commercial law, finance law and international business law the training will prepare participants to assume new positions as specialised commercial judges and judicial trainers. The program will provide short-term attachments for eight Indonesian MoT officials, four from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), and four from the Directorate General of Sea Transportation (DGST) to strengthen their transport security skills and expertise. The officials will undertake training, workshops and site-visits in security audit activities and standards. The Fellowship assists in the development of health professionals (clinicians, nurses, public health practitioners, managers, policymakers, researchers and educators) from Timor Leste. This capacitybuilding program involves individualised mentoring, placement and training plans that meet the learning goals of each Fellow in the context of workforce requirements. This program will provide staff from River Basin Organsations in Asia with the leadership skills required to influence, drive change and advance river basin management. It will provide Fellows with an opportunity to learn from Australian practice and reflect on the applicability of these practices in their home context. A joint fellowship between the Nossal Institute for Global Health (NI) and the Australian Institute of Police Management (AIPM), which seeks to provide aspiring South East Asian police leaders and trainers with the leadership and public health skills and knowledge to act as leaders in the regional response to HIV. The Leadership, Change Management and Sustainable Governance Framework will introduce Fellows from Mongolia, who are strategically placed to influence change in Mongolia, to a range of approaches and frameworks that underpin sustainable governance and have potential to be customised for implementation in Mongolia. This program builds on a previous Fellowship conducted with Indonesia and will now be expanded to include Fellows from Nepal. The program is designed to extend the Fellows capacity to support quality developments in inclusive and special education in their countries through their experiences in Australia. An ophthalmologist from Yangon Eye Hospital in Myanmar will undertake a 12-month fellowship in the treatment of glaucoma in South Australia. On completion, Dr Thet will return to the major ophthalmic teaching centre in Yangon as the leading glaucoma specialist in her country. The program will contribute to economic growth in Myanmar by improving the capacity of the Internal Revenue Department to protect Myanmars tax base from international tax minimisation practices. Training will cover principles in international taxation, tax treaties, transfer pricing, tax planning and tax enforcement. 1/3

This program strengthens educational leaders capacity to apply research-based practice for the improvement of teaching quality and learning outcomes. In addition to foregrounding ethical and moral responsibility, Fellows will strengthen their capacity for accountability by applying action research process and procedures to student progress and whole school improvement. Global Intensive Professional Program HIV/AIDS presents a major public health challenge particularly affecting resource-limited countries, in HIV (GIPPH) leading to increased demand for enhancing educational and research skills. GIPPH provides opportunity to engage in the reciprocal exchange of skills, ideas and opinions that are likely to contribute to significant improvements to HIV/AIDS response in all participating countries. Legal Education and Training for The Legal Education and Training for Vietnamese Ministry of Justice Officials: International Trade Vietnamese Ministry of Justice and Investment Law program (Program) is an academic and skill-building program designed by Officials: International Trade and senior Melbourne Law School (MLS) faculty members (in consultation with the Ministry of Justice, Investment Law (Vietnam) Vietnam (MoJ)) specifically for MoJ officials in leadership positions. Human Rights, Corruption and the Four Human Rights practitioners, selected on the basis of their academic excellence, leadership and Law: Enhancing Higher Education potential, will work with Southern Cross University academics and advisors to develop capacity in Teaching and Scholarship curriculum design and research skills to promote higher education teaching, research and scholarly leadership in Human Rights, Corruption and the Law. Pacific Transfusion Leaders Program Leadership Program for established and emerging leaders in blood transfusion from Pacific countries. Developing Best-Practice Public Sector Financial Management and Governance in Vietnam The program will build the capacity of Vietnams Ministry of Finance leaders to drive financial management and governance reforms in Vietnams public sector agencies and State Owned Enterprises, by equipping leaders with best-practice financial management and governance frameworks, regulatory standards, systems and restructuring methodologies. Development of Speech Therapy No speech therapy degrees currently exist in Vietnam. This fellowship will provide training for leaders Undergraduate Programs in Vietnam from two leading Vietnamese universities and allow them to develop an undergraduate program curriculum in speech therapy, based on the expertise of several University of Sydney academic and clinical staff who have worked in Vietnam. AfricaArray: Academic Staff We will train African geoscientists at JCU in GIS and geochemistry for mining by providing advanced Development in Geosciences in Africa GIS training, and access to analytical facilities. Candidates will be selected from participants in the 2012 JCU, short-courses in GIS and Mining, and from institutions affiliated with AfricaArray. Strategic Leadership for Inclusive The proposed program is designed to build the capacity of key educators in PNG to progress Education in Elementary Education in Inclusive Education in elementary schools in PNG. It also builds on previous and current PNG collaborations between the National Department of Education in PNG and QUT over many years. Strengthening HIV prevention in Indonesia (Tanah Papua): building workforce capacity In Tanah Papua, HIV prevalence is estimated at > 3%. Building leadership and technical capacity to develop/refine Government action plans is fundamental to accelerating the response for youth. This program will strengthen technical/leadership capacity and support coordination, planning and systems strengthening to respond to HIV for young people. Optometry Faculty Development This program aims to up skill optometry faculty. It aims to improve the quality of the teaching, the Program resources used for teaching, and research capacity of optometry faculty. Strengthening Disability Inclusive This Fellowship has been designed to enhance outcomes for people with disabilities by Development in Asia strengthening the capacity of the International Federation of Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) within Asia to implement disability inclusive development (DID) programs. Many African countries face a significant challenge in achieving the Health MDGs 4, 5 and 6. The capacity to undertake quality Health System requires enhancement. This Fellowship will build local capacity in Health System research and evaluation knowledge and skills in key African Universities towards achieving the MDGs. Skills training : cooperation and Multistrada is a large manufacturer with authority from the Indonesian Ministry to operate a collaboration in the community community college for local community skills standards strengthening. It includes collaboration with Bandung State Polytechnic and a foundation, YCAB, which engages with school drop outs. TAFE SI will provide a comprehensive program in quality skills training. Leadership Program We are providing leadership training to healthcare senior executives in Pakistan, in corporate governance using modern digital technologies necessary to manage a sustainable healthcare organisation. Participants will be trained in aspects such as managing a workforce, providing transparent financial reports and seamlessly integrating clinical skills with various management activities. Forensic Odontology Capacity Senior dentists from the Nepalese Institute of Medicine have requested a professional attachment in Development - Nepal forensic odontology with a focus on practical aspects of identification, bite mark analysis and age estimation and new trends ( use of radiology in age estimation and identification), record keeping and disaster victim identification and mass casualty management. 'Building Government Capacity in This Fellowship will work with selected fellows from public sector departments in Papua to develop a Papua' strategic understanding of the role of an HRD strategy; development and implementation of a strategy; and finally leadership skills so Fellows play an active role in implementing the work plans developed from this training. Capacity building in research and The Fellowship is to address food security in Cameroon and across central Africa, through laboratory skills for postharvest pest enhancing the research and laboratory skills of a research entomologist to enable her to develop control in maize for Cameroon natural pesticide products for control of maize storage pests. Mental health upskilling course for A mental health training program will be offered to mental health nurses and community health nurses and community health workers workers from across the Pacific. The course will upskill participants in mental health theory and skills in the Pacific as well as education techniques to ensure they impart the new knowledge upon their return. Building Capabilities in Quality STEM Professional development program for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Teaching in the Philippines secondary school teachers, principals and subject coordinators from the Philippines Asia-Pacific Mentoring Program The fellowship is open to health professionals who have completed their primary training and working at mid-career level in clinical oncology, in a developing country within the Asia-Pacific. The host institution contributes to the recipients ability to make a lasting difference to an important aspect of cancer care in their home country. Assist the National Mining Enterprise (ENAMI-EP) to strengthen its capacity to effectively develop and manage regulatory and institutional frameworks for the resources sector, that meets the needs of government, industry and civil society to promote sustainable mining practices for economic development.
