Privileges, Functions and Activities. -Nothing in this Act shall be
construed to repeal, amend or limit any provision of existing laws,
Presidential Decrees and Letters of Instructions, not otherwise
specifically inconsistent with the provisions of this Act.
"SEC. 55. Exclusiveness of Benefits. - Whenever other laws provide
similar benefits for the same contingencies covered by this Act, the
member who qualifies to the benefits shall have the option to choose
which benefits will be paid to him. However, if the benefits provided by
the law chosen are less than the benefits provided under this Act, the
GSIS shall pay only the difference.
"SEC. 56. Appropriations. - The amount necessary to carry out the
provisions of this Act shall be included in the respective budgets of the
agencies in the national government obligation program of the year
following its enactment into law and thereafter."
Section 2. Separability Clause. - Should any provision of this Act or any part
thereof be declared invalid, the other provisions, so far as they are separable from
the invalid ones, shall remain in force and effect.
Section 3. Repealing Clause. - All laws and any other law or parts of law
specifically inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed or modified
