 Additional Guidelines as per Resolution No. 63/2009 of

Academic Council dated 28/04/2009

Text Book:-
1. The book covering all topics from syllabus of MUHS, Nashik (at that time) then only
it can be recommended as “Text book” for the concerned subject.
2. “Text book” should contain all sufficient details from syllabus.
3. Text Book should have only standard abbreviations.
4. Text Book should not be too descriptive and detailed nor should it be too brief.
5. If book is in Question-Answer format then it cannot be recommended as “Text book”
6. The book related with MCQ cannot be recommended as “Text book” or “Reference
book”.
7. Text Book should be revised and updated regularly and should be approved by the
Board of Studies.

Reference Book:-

1. The book related with subject and covering portion of syllabus in detail then that can
be designated as reference book.
2. The reference Books should provide detailed and in depth knowledge of the topics,
which are included in the syllabus. It should provide updated and advanced
knowledge, which should stimulate students to read for reference purpose.
3. Reference Books should have the references for each topic for further reading

Onus / Responsibility of mistake in text book /reference book recommended by the

University as per Resolution No.66/2009 of Academic Council dated 28/04/2009

1. The Onus/ Responsibility about the mistake in Text Book / Reference Book will lie on
shoulders of respective Author. The University shall be disclaimer in this matter.
2. The Author should be informed about the mistakes for its corrections. If corrective
action is not taken by Author within mentioned period University must withdraw
recommendations of particular book.
