Terms and Conditions of Enrolment Academic year 2013/2014 I General 1.

These Terms and Conditions of Enrolment regulate the process of application and admission of applicants at Rga Stradi University (hereinafter RSU) full time study programs of International Student Department (hereinafter ISD). 2. These Terms and Conditions of Enrolment are based on Terms of Enrolment for 1st level, bachelors and professional study programs approved by RSU Senate on October 16th, 2012 (Protocol No. 1-2/16.10.12.) and Immigration Law adopted by Saeima on October 31st, 2002. II Documents 3. In order to apply for studies at RSU ISD, the applicant must fill out the Application Form and submit it along with the supporting application documents listed on the Application form. Application Form is available on RSUs homepage www.rsu.lv/eng/. 4. Documents can be submitted to the University directly or through official University representative (complete list is published on www.rsu.lv/eng/ ). 5. Application documents must be submitted in English. Documents in original language other than English must have an authorized translation in English. 6. If a copy of original document is submitted it must be confirmed by Notary Public or legalized according to Hague Convention on Legalization of Foreign Public Documents (information on Internet : www.hcch.net ). 7. Legalization of Secondary School Leaving Certificate, Police Clearance Certificate and Bank Letter of the applicants form non-EU and non-EEA countries is mandatory. 8. If the name of the applicant on any document differs from the name in applicants passport, a document confirming the change of name must be submitted. 9. Upon submitting the application documents to RSU ISD, the applicant must pay Application fee. Application fee is set by RSU and is non-refundable. 10. Original application documents are returned to the applicants who were not accepted, upon their written request. 11. Application documents of applicants who were not accepted are kept at RSU for one year after which they are destroyed. III Deadlines 12. The Application start dates and deadlines for each enrolment are announced on RSU website www.rsu.lv/eng/. 13. All application documents must be received at RSU until the application deadline. IV Selection process

14. Only complete application packages are accepted and evaluated by the Admission Board. 15. The admission requirements for each Academic Year are set by RSU and are published on RSU website www.rsu.lv/eng 16. Applicants who do not meet all the admission requirements do not take part in selection process. 17. Applicants who have negative evaluation in any of the required subjects in their official transcript from secondary school do not take part in selection process. 18. Selection process is based on evaluating the applicants grades in the required subjects, their level of English language proficiency, recommendations and personal statement. 19. If the Applicant is claiming recognition of their previous study results from another higher education institution, it must be done during the application process by indicating so in the Application Form. The Applicant should apply for exemptions from study courses from all study years at RSU at once. After the signing of the Study Contract, the study plan cannot be changed. Changes in the approved study plan can only be possible if the study programme is changed by RSU at a later stage of Students study process. 20. The selection process results are announced in one to two month time after receiving complete application package. 21. The selection process is completed by RSU informing all applicants and/or their representatives RSU agents of the results of the selection process via e-mail. All accepted students receive official Acceptance Letter to their postal address given in their Application Form. 22. Applicants, who do not complete the application process and do not receive the Acceptance Letter, can re-apply in the next enrolment. 23. Accepted students can defer the beginning of studies one time, for maximum one year. In that case a new Application Form must be submitted and application fee paid. Any document that has expired until the next application period must be submitted anew. VI Imatriculation and Registration for Studies 24. Accepted students must confirm their study place until the deadline indicated in their Acceptance Letter via e-mail or phone that is provided in the Acceptance Letter. In case a student fails to confirm the study place until the given deadline, the study place offer is cancelled. 25. Accepted students must settle all payments indicated in the Acceptance Letter until the given deadlines. Failure to pay all fees until the given deadline is considered as a decline of the study place. 26. Students register for studies and sign their Study Contracts during the Orientation Week before the beginning of the studies. The dates of the Orientation Week are announced on RSU website www.rsu.lv/eng/ 27. Students arriving after the Orientation Week must register for the studies at ISD immediately after their arrival.

28. Students are imatriculated at RSU with Rectors Order after signing Study Contract and fulfilling all obligations stated in it. VII Student Residence Permit 29. Non-EU and non-EEA citizens must obtain Student Residence Permit to enable the student to live and study in Latvia. 30. The offer of study place does not guarantee that the student will receive the Student Residence Permit. 31. Admission of non-EU and non-EEA citizens is conditional until the student receives a valid Student Residence Permit. In case the Student Residence Permit is not granted, the University refunds the tuition fee and caution money in full amount. VII Applicants and Universitys Obligations 32. During the application process the Applicant has the following obligations: 32.1. To submit the necessary application documents in the given deadline. 32.2. Fill out the Application Form and submit only correct and true information. 32.3. To read and accept these Terms and Conditions of Enrolment. 32.4. To respond to the study place offer by confirming the acceptance of it or declining it. 32.5. To fulfil the financial obligations toward RSU in the given deadlines. 33. The University during the application process has the following obligations: 33.1. To provide information on study programs offered by RSU and on application process. 33.2. To ensure non-discriminatory and fair selection process, to consider applicants irrespective of race, colour, religion, sex, special needs or national origin. 33.3. To accept, evaluate and announce the decision about acceptance to the applicant in one to two months after receiving complete application package. 33.4. Organize the imatriculation of the accepted students.
