Question 3: Systematic Sample:


We have to make a systematic sample out of the 200 population given in the sample frame work. Thus, first we calculate the interval nth which is sampling interval. K= N/n Where N stands for population size i.e. 200, n stands for the sample size i.e. 15. Thus, k = 200/15 = 13.33

As 13.33 is a non integer. The random starting point should instead be selected as a non integer between 0 and 13.33 (inclusive on one endpoint only) to ensure that every salesperson has equal chance of being selected; the interval should now be non integral (13.33); and each non integer selected should be rounded up to the next integer.
