LOOKING AHEAD The Ultimate Journey: Your Next Steps

Colossians 2:6-7

It is frequently acknowledged that most important step in any journey is the next one. The Ultimate Journey is made up of a series of steps. In fact, Paul says,

Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude. ~Colossians 2:6-7
It is time for us to decide our next steps. Lets start with a little riddle. Five frogs are sitting on a log. Five decide to jump. How many are now on the log? Answer? Five. Deciding to jump and jumping are two different things. Looking It Up 1. What did Paul see in the believers in Colossae that encouraged him? 2:5 2. What is his primary concern going forward? (2:6) What does the way we began our journey (as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord), have in common with the way we continue in the journey? 3. Why do think Paul likens the journey of Christian maturity as a walk? 4. According to v. 7, how does our past history as a believer connect with our current reality? 5. Where does the overflowing with gratitude fit in? 6. As you consider where you are in the Ultimate Journey, and where you want to be, what next steps will help you get there?
