Your school is cordially invited to join the competition. The main objective of the competition is to provide an opportunity for local choreographers and students to showcase their talents and to encourage the creation of new dance forms. The competition is open to all primary & secondary schools. It will be divided into 2 categories : Malay ethnic dance (primary level) and Malay ethnic dance (secondary). The competition will be held in July 2013. A preliminary round may be held if the response to the competition is overwhelming. Final : 6th July 2013 (Saturday)

Enclosed are the entry form and a list of rules and regulations. The entrance fee of $130.00 payable by cash/cheque for each dance group. The entry form, together with payment, should reach the organizer no later than 30th May 2013. Join us in preserving and promoting Malay culture & dance. JUARA TARI RIANG RIA 2013 TRADITIONAL MALAY DANCE COMPETITION OBJECTIVE 1. talents. 2. ORGANISER The Malay Dance Competition is organized by EDN Media Consultant Pte Ltd. GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS The following rules and regulations are applicable to participants: Participants : This competition is open to all choreographers and local school dance groups. Participating groups will be judged according to two sections: i. Schools ( primary schools ) ii. Schools (secondary schools). Categories : Participants are allowed to put up the following types of dances: i. Traditional Malay Ethnic Dance (Traditional Zapin, Masri, Asli, Joget & Inang Only) Entries : (a) Each school is allowed to enter maximum of two groups. (eg Group A & Group B) (maximum 12 students per group inclusive reserves and assistance/helpers) (b) The type of music used is at the discretion of the choreographer. The number of dancers in the item should not exceed 12 dancers (minimum 6 dancers). The length of the dance should be within 3-6 minutes. (c) A list of all students participants details (12 students) must accompany each entry. (d) Each entry must be made on a separate entry form. The completed form, together with the cheque payment addressed to EDN-Media Consultant Pte Ltd and send to : The Traditional Malay Dance Organizer c/o EDN-Media Consultant Pte Ltd 18 @ TradeHub 21, #05-112, Boon Lay Way, Singapore 609966 (e) The entrance fee for the competition is $130/- for each group. Final SELECTION :

: 06.07.2013 (Saturday)

(a) Groups are strongly advised to put up original works. (b) A synopsis of the dance must accompany each entry. (c) Preliminary rounds may be scheduled before the Finals depending on participant response. (d) Dance items exceeding 6 minutes will be have 3 points deducted & possibility of disqualification. (e) All winners will be featured in our children magazine Majalah Riang Ria and facebook page Riang Ria. PRODUCTION COST: (a) All costs for transport, preparation, costumes and presentation shall be borne entirely by the participating groups. (b) Participating groups are to provide their own music accompaniment, in the form of music CD. Please duplicate a copy for our sound control manager. AWARDS A cash prize and trophy will be awarded to all selected winners. The awards for each category are: Traditional Malay Ethnic Dance
(Primary) 1st Prize - $300 + trophies + prizes + certificates 2nd Prize - $200 + trophies + prizes + certificates 3rd Prize - $100 + trophies + prizes + certificates Best Choreography - Trophy Best Costume - Trophy Finalist Consolation Prizes - Prizes & certificates (Secondary) 1st Prize - $300 + trophies + prizes + certificates 2nd Prize - $200 + trophies + prizes + certificates 3rd Prize - $100 + trophies + prizes + certificates Best Choreography - Trophy Best Costume - Trophy Finalist Consolation Prizes - Prizes & certificates

All participants (12 students per groups inclusive reserves/helpers) will be given a participating gifts & Certificate of participations. Organizer reserves the right to change or add more prizes subject to availability of sponsors.

GENERAL 1. 2. 3. The Organizer shall not be liable for any loss, injury or damage arising out of, or in connection to the groups participation during the dance competition. Non-compliance with the stipulated rules and regulations will result in immediate disqualification. The judges decision is final.
