Ministry Description: Ministry Title: Ministry Objective: Raising Families Raising Families Advocate To mobilise and equip Christian churches and other community groups, in designated area and to become actively involved in spreading the word of the Raising Families programme and in encouraging financial support Spiritually mature Christian and signatory to Samaritans Purse Statement of Faith Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills Connected to and knowledgeable of designated geographic area Committed to the ministry goals of Raising Families Sensitive to the various Christian denominational differences Regular email communication required Samaritans Purse Communications Team Church and Agency Relationship Development Strategy Manager Samaritans Purse Communications Team Church and Agency Relationship Development Strategy Manager Samaritans Purse Church Contacts Samaritans Purse Regional Managers and Teams in designated area

Primary Responsibilities: Attend Raising Families training/refresher sessions, and appropriate Samaritans Purse Conferences Promote Raising Families in UK churches and organisations in designated area and look for new opportunities Sign people up for 10/month Direct Debits Support/promote Raising Families at designated events Develop Area Ministry Plan with support of Raising Families Team Provide regular progress updates and reports to Raising Families Team in pre-defined format Meet/communicate regularly with Church and Agency Relationshi p Development Strategy Manager and Samaritans Purse Head of Communications Maintain follow up with each participant church and organisation to determine if they had a positive experience, received needed resources, and to ensure future participation in the project. Maintain records of church and organisation participation and contact information, submit new contacts and updates to Raising Families Team Sign Samaritans Purse Child Protection Policy and Data Protection Policy

Level of Commitment: One year. May hold ministry position for multiple terms. May be ended at any time by volunteer or Samaritans Purse Raising Families Staff. Time commitment of two to five hours per week all year round, most likely evenings and weekends. Training Expectations: Initial Advocate Training with Samaritans Purse Communications Staff Annual Leadership and Ministry Specific Training Participation in regional training events
