Process Dynamics
Principle: The Spot / Projection welding machines manufactured by Artech operate on the principle of Capacitor Discharge. Power Economics: The welders use mains input power only for control and charging the Capacitors that store the energy. The built in controls ensure that the stored energy is always constant irrespective of voltage uctuations. The demand on input power, required for charging of capacitors is less. This results in large scale reduction of KVA demand and hence reduction in operational cost. The number of units consumed are also less as compared to conventional welders. Weld Cycle: The stored energy is discharged into the weldment via a pulse transformer and the weld is carried out in a few milli seconds. In this process only the actual welding area is molten and fused together. The welded parts are clean and undistorted as there is insufcient time for heat to conduct beyond the welding area and the result is smooth nish with minimum blemish. Rigid Construction: The welders use fabricated frame structure for housing the capacitor banks, control circuits, charging and discharging transformers. The welding electrodes are mounted in C- shaped quick response press mechanism and electrode movement is hydraulically / pneumatically operated. Versatile Range: Artech manufacturers machines ranging from 500 wattseconds ( joules) to 30000 wattseconds ( joules ).
