Pearl Harbor It was the day that now is known as a day of infamy, a day that will be in the history

of the United States for years. It was a surprise attack, an attack that occurred at a time when the United States wasnt even expecting it. At 7:55 on December 7th 1941, Japanese military forces at Pearl Harbor attacked the United States of America. The Pearl Harbor by Randall Wallace tells a story about two friends reunited at the war, struggling between Pearl Harbor had a big impact on U.S history and many effects on U.S people. The day of December 7th 1941 is they day that changed American History forever. It officially brought United States into World War II. Just days after the Japanese attack on the Pacific Fleet Germany and Italy declared war on the United States. The attack also resulted in the deaths of 2,403 American servicemen and sixty-eight civilians. The author Shane Carney of The Effects of Pearl Harbor on Japanese Americans said: The American public went off of their natural reactions and the reactions of their government to create anti-Japanese sentiments throughout the nation. More than seventy thousand of Japanese were placed in the internment camps. Pearl Harbor by Randall Wallace emphasizes all the details and the evil tone of that day, and makes a connection between the war and society and peoples view on the war. The attack had a huge impact on American citizens. People were thinking How could I help the war, what could I do? After the attack millions of men and women volunteered to join the army and contribute the war. People who survived the attacks stayed in Navy and fought Japanese. The war also pulled the United States out of the depression, with the demands of government for tanks and war supplies people were paid for their work and because people were being paid again they were no longer unable to pay for things like bills and food. Women were taking mens roles in society. Women contributed to the factory work, production of weapons and war supplies. Pearl Harbor made people more patriotic and united the whole country. Pearl Harbor by Randall Wallace is a story about two best friends felt in love with the same woman. The war reunites them at the battle of Pearl Harbor. The main character of the story Rafe is weak and competitive. Army puts Rafe in very difficult situation, choosing between his love Evelyn and serving for the British army. He chooses his career instead of being with Evelyn. Rafe thinks of himself very high, he wants to save the world and to clean the country out of enemies. Rafes motivation through the whole story is to become a good pilot, to have a good fight, and to fight the Germans. This fact makes him to lose Evelyn. Its a part of Rafes weakness and not making smart decisions. During the story the narrator describes Rafes weakness when he shows up, drinks and gets in fight with Danny who is his best friend. When the war changes the relationship between Rafe and Danny. Being ones of the best pilots they reunite and fight with honor and duty. The war gets very personal

for each character. During the battle Danny gets killed and Rafe and Evelyn are together again. Pearl Harbor is a wonderful story about
