(Have Mary, Joseph, 4 Shepherds, and Angel #1 standing front and center, they leave after 2nd song) Song: Who is this child? (CS pg. 46) Narrator 1: Many throughout time have asked the question, Who is Jesus? Narrator 2: Jesus Himself asked the question, Whom do men say that I the son of Man am?1 Narrator 3: The question is answered, the truth is restored. Like Peter, we echo the response, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God.2 Narrator 4: Fortunately we have the Bible to read about the miraculous birth of The Savior. Mary: And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.3 Shepherds: And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.4 Angel #1: Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.5 (Angels fill the stage and leave after song) Angel Chorus: Angels We have Heard on High (Hymns #203) (Small group of Nephites and Samuel come to the front and center of stage) Narrator 1: Angels rejoiced over the newborn King. Glorious hosts filled heaven and earth with songs of joy. Narrator 2: Families gather together each Christmas and read the story of Christ. Hearts are filled with love as we think of His humble beginnings on earth. Narrator 3: A glorious account of the birth of Jesus can be found in The Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ. Who is Jesus? The Book of Mormon enlightens our understanding. Narrator 4: It was a sad time in the Americas. Believers of Christ were persecuted and were on the eve of their destruction. Nephite #1: I know that Heavenly Father sent Samuel the Lamanite to teach us about Jesus.

Nephite #2: Samuel the Lamanite is a prophet. A prophet tells us the word of God. Samuel: Solo VS. 1 Samuel Tells of Baby Jesus (CS pg. 36) Nephite #3: I know that Jesus will be born far away but that He will come to us too! Look, even the arrows cannot hit him. It is a miracle! Nephite #4: Our faith is strong like Samuels courage. Nephite #5: If only the sign would be given of His birth! The night will be as day and a new star will arise. (Stars fill the stage and leave after song, except for 1 star) Chorus of Stars: VS 1 There Was Starlight on the Hillside (CS pg.40) Narrator 1: A beautiful star lighted up the night sky in Bethlehem when the Savior was born. Narrator 2: That same star was seen in the Americas and the Nephites rejoiced. Narrator 3: And it came to pass that there was no darkness in all that night, but it was as light as though it was midday. And it came to pass that the sun did rise in the morning again, according to its proper order; and they knew that it was the day that the Lord should be born, because of the sign which had been given Narrator 4: And it had come to pass, yea, all things, every whit, according to the words of the prophets.6 (Star leaves the stage and President Monson comes out) Narrator 1: Another prophet, President Monson speaks to us today. President Monson: Christmas is what we make of it. Despite all the distractions, we can see to it that Christ is at the center of our celebration. If we have not already done so, we can establish Christmas traditions for ourselves and for our families which will help us capture and keep the spirit of Christmas.7 (Everyone comes back on stage) Narrator 2: May we read the scriptures, The Bible and The Book of Mormon, and know that they are the word of the Lord. Narrator 3: Both go hand in hand to help us have a testimony that Jesus was born. Who is Jesus? He lived a perfect life. He atoned for the sins of the world out of pure love. Narrator 4: He died for you and I. He was resurrected the 3rd day. Because He lives, we can live again too! As President Monson said, this Christmas and always, may we put Christ at the center of our lives! Who is Jesus? Our very best friend! Narrator 1: In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. May we please end in song and testimony, by singing all together I Believe in Christ, page 134. Song: I Believe in Christ (Hymns pg. 134)Children and Adults in Audience
