EMPLOYABILITY:
PROFESSIONAL JOBS FOR PROFESSIONAL PEOPLE
This year, the PACE and People 1st learning & development forum will focus on employability. It will equip both management and teaching staff from colleges, universities and schools with the best practices, tools and advice on how to prepare their students for the world of work. There will also be workshops on the latest government legislation and funding developments and demonstrations on the latest culinary trends. THE AUDITORIUM The East Midlands Conference Centres purpose built auditorium provides the perfect platform for presenting the latest government developments across the education sector. Topics will include the state of the nation report and creating lifetime partnerships. WORKSHOPS In order to tailor the forum programme to your needs, there will be a range of interactive workshops that you can choose to attend. The core workshop topics such as Handling Reductions in Funding, will be repeated so that you dont have to miss them. Other topics include apprenticeships and the differentiated curriculum. LIVE DEMONSTRATIONS To complement the workshops and plenary sessions, the live demonstrations are a refreshing approach to keeping you up-to-date with the latest skills and culinary trends. Taking place on purpose built demo kitchens within the exhibition, classes will include street food, liquid nitrogen and aperitifs. THE EXHIBITION The East Midlands Conference Centre has a beautiful atrium area that allows us to create a free flowing, business networking and exhibition community for delegates. In this area, you will find equipment suppliers, awarding institutes, ingredient suppliers and recruitment companies all showcasing the latest technologies on the market. THE VENUE The East Midlands Conference Centre is purpose built and hired exclusively for the PACE event. There is a beautiful atrium area that allows us to create a free flowing, business networking and exhibition community for delegates around the main auditorium which ensures we keep everyone together in one exclusive area. Your accommodation during the event will be in a brand new DeVere hotel that has just been built and has a connecting walkway from the East Midlands Conference centre. This means that the quality and comfort of your accommodation will be first class, and standard of food excellent. FEEDBACK FROM 2013

This was an interesting and informative conference and was organised well, venue was great. Best workshop was Royston Guest with Enterprise in Colleges Louise Crompton,
West Cheshire College

Good selection of speakers and topics. Also Masterclasses very good (attended 3) Margaret Georgiou,
Savoy Educational Trust

One of the best events, very informative lots of networking, well done to all
Breda Scholes, Hopwood Hall College

As always the PACE Conference maintains its place at THE event to attend in terms of staff development update and networking. Perhaps this years attempt to reduce the time and cost had a negative effect on ability to see key speakers and activities with many key speakers allocated to the last minute first morning addition
Gerry Shurman, South Downs College

A fantastic dynamic event. Lots of diverse speakers, topics and activities plus great networking opportunities with industry and colleagues Sue Kenyon,
Stockport College

Excellent as usual! Covering issues that are current and relevant with great opportunities to talk to colleagues, share good practices and discuss possible solutions! Thank you
Tony Petruso, Oxford and Cherwell Valley College

I was new to the event but the networking opportunities available were really helpful. Also the workshops were a great idea, however see other answers for further comments
