whenyoupresstheshifteronce.Itmayormaynothelpwithotherissuesrelatedtotheshifterpaddles astheyalsomaymalfunctionduetobrokenwires.Ihavehadtwowheelsdevelopthemultipleshift problem,andthishasfixedbothofthem.Iamalmostcertainthatthiswillvoidanywarrantythatyou mayhavewithLogitech. CarefullyremovetheGTlogomedallionfromthecenterofthewheel.Youwillmostlikelybendthisin theremovalprocess.Youcanstraightenitbackoutandmakeituseable,butitwillneverlooklikeitdid beforeyouremovedit.Iknowofnosourceforreplacementsforthismedallion.Youneedtogetathin narrowobjecttoprythisoff.Itisonlyheldinplacewithalargepieceofdoublesticktape.Thescrews ontheperimeterdontreallydoanything;theyarejustthereforlooks. Thetabonthewheelhubonthebottomissmallerthantheotherthreesoyoucantgetthewheelon wrongwhenyoureassemble. Thistabissmallerthantheotherthree

Beforeremovingthewheel,makesurethatyouknowwhichswitchyouintendtoreplace.Writeitdown somewhereorplanonreplacingbothswitchesanddontworryaboutit.Theswitchesarevery inexpensive(lessthan$1.00each)comparedtotheeffortrequiredtogetthemandreplacethem.I alwaysreplacebothwhileIvegoteverythingtakenapart.

Carefullypryoffthismedallion..itisonlyheld onwithathickpieceofdoublesticktape

Afterpryingoffthemedallion,therearefourscrewsinthebottomoftheseholesthatneedtobe removed.

 Removethesescrewswitha#1Phillipsscrewdriver.Carefullyandslowlypullthewheelawayfromthe base.Asthewheelseparatesfromthebase,thereisanelectricalconnectorthatneedstobeunplugged.

Afterunpluggingtheconnectorthewheeliscompleteseparatedfromthebase. Turnthewheelfacedownonasoftsurfaceandremovethese8blackscrewswitha#1Phillips screwdriver

 andthetwosilverscrewswitha#0phillipsscrewdriver

Therearcovercannowberemoved.

Removethetwoscrewsholdingthecircuitboarddownwiththe#0Phillipsscrewdriver,foldtheribbon cableoutofthewaytoexposethesecondscrew.

Oncethecircuitboardisloose,Placesomethingunderittoprotectthesteeringwheelfromanyhot solderthatmayfallonit.Turntheboardoverandunsolderthefourconnectors.Iusea15watt solderingironanditworksjustfine

Removetheoldswitch,placethenewswitchinpositionandresolderthefourconnectorpoints.The switchhasnoorientation,soaslongasitfitsintothesocket,youareOK.Makesurethattheswitchis settingonthecircuitboard. oldswitchremoved

 Afterthewheelisbackinpositiononthebase,itmaybeeasiertoinsertthe4screwsbackintothe holesifyoucanusesomedoublesidedtapetokeepthescrewfromfallingoffofthescrewdriver

Afterthescrewisintheholeandahalfturnorso,usetweezerstogetthedoublesidedtapeoutofthe way. Tightenupthefourscrews,straightenouttheGTmedallionasbestthatyoucanandreinstallit.
