Extensive consulting and work experience in the US and UK, with major software consultancy houses,
including Computer Sciences Corporation, Affiliated Computer Services, Wipro Technologies etc.,
 Have extensive experience both in India, United States, and the UK having worked in self
starter roles since 1995, Including leading technology implementation in India,
Engineering, and Solutions Architect positions in the US, and Architect / Designer
positions in the UK.
 Most of these positions have involved working with Offshore / Onsite teams, and coordination
of work with remote teams.
 While it is easy to achieve a balance in a technical role, I have also been involved in
developing Processes for every technology organization I have been part of. Developing
Processes, Process documentation, and documenting procedures for technical
implementations has been continual highlight of my career.

Major Projects / Environments

In my Role as the Infrastructure Designer for Norwich union / Aviva, the primary role is to
design solutions for each software project that gets implemented in the Aviva application estate. A
team of designers operate to provide design, implementation and governance activities for hosted
applications. The environments include J2EE platforms (WebSphere, WAS Portal etc.,), IIS .Net
based applications, UNISURE, Mainframe, etc., with a complex network infrastructure with partners,
third parties etc., The solutions I participated in include -
• Security Analysis of all Applications, platforms, and network infrastructure in terms of PCI
compliance. This was an enterprise wide activity for initiating projects for PCI compliance
which is a requirement for the organization to achieve by December of 2009. I played the
role of a designer to document current state, and identify security variances to fix.
• Involved in the design and implementation of a WebSEAL / TAM 5.1 in the DMZ to provide
access to applications in a secure environment. Generally identified as the SME for TAM and
integrated security solutions in the Aviva environment.

• Integration of J2EE Applications in to a WebSphere Hosting platform which is based on IHS,
WAS, WPS and other products from the IBM WebSphere stack.
• Current responsibilities include Integration of applications written for ASP.Net, WebSphere
Application Server and other IIS / Apache / JRun / Tomcat Environments, with an
authentication and authorization framework consisting of Cisco SSLM, Cisco IPS & IDS,
Checkpoint Application Firewall, Cisco CSM, Cisco FWSM and WebSEAL.
• Job responsibilities include Analysis of Penetration testing results, Designing Access and
Credential forwarding techniques, troubleshooting access issues, troubleshooting Integration
points etc.,
• Also involved with design and implementation of CDAS modules for Custom authentication
with WebSEAL involving Step-Up Authentication and Client-Certificate Authentication.

In my Role as an Application Architect for CSC -

• Implemented a data centre segment for a set of Intel / Linux Servers for RJ Reynolds
corporation.
• Architect for an Auction application, implementation using Java / Tomcat /Apache / Linux
platform. For Cigarette brands like Kool, Camel, Salem, and others, There are Coupons /
Codes printed on the covers of the packs. The consumers can use these Coupons / Codes on
the web application, to gain points, and also play games using other applications to gain
points, and buy different products from the web application in an auction using those points.

In my Role as the Infrastructure Architect for CSC -

• Improved performance of iPlanet Application server clusters to achieve a 99.99% uptime for
close to 50 different applications in production environment for the DuPont eCommerce
environment. This was one of the first implementations of virtualized iPlanet Application
clusters using two physical servers, but running up to six clusters at any given time.

• Architecture, Implementation and support of WebSphere Portal Servers (2.x and 4.0) for
DuPont Internal Websites, running both eCommerce applications for CSRs, and Dashboards
for Dupont Executives. The Applications were written in Java by other teams, and We
provided guidelines for application development aiming at performance, and integration with
existing security products. The Stack of Technologies involved Aventail Extraweb for Security,
iPlanet Directory servers for LDAP, Custom designed data integration products for Directory
Integration, WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Portal Server etc.,
• For a Single-Sign-On solution using best of the breed architecture, Dupont had Aventail
Extraweb Reverse Proxy Server as their gateway for General Web Sites, and Whale
Communications Airgap solution as their gateway for Secure sites. These had to be integrated
with existing LDAPs which were the system of reference, integrated with the WebSphere SSO
solution (LTPA) etc., to complete their environment. My Contribution to that environment
includes –
• Creation of Custom designed Integration tools in Perl to import/export data between the
different gateways from and to the LDAP. (Saved costs of buying an integrator product like
ITDI or iPlanet Directory Integrator)
• Extension of the WebSphere LTPA authentication and security environment for Tomcat
environments in a cooperative environment withIBM.
• Extension of WebSphere Portal Server (2.0) with custom hacks to
• integrate with Aventail Extraweb Servers
