Planning

Implementing
$nstruction (The skill%activity is e&plained and demonstrated to the class as a whole) Transition to Teams (Students are grouped into teams and egin working on the assigned task) Team Study (Students practice the skills eing taught in the lesson and aid each other's learning) (ecogni#ing Achievement (This is where improvement points and team awards are given to the team who improved most from their ase scores)

Assessment
In the classroom, this will look like most group-work assignments. The students will help their group/partner to achieve the learning ability to the best of their efforts. Each students efforts will be observed and graded on their improvement from their previous assessments. When significant improvement is observed the group will be rewarded Rewards can be extra recess time, party, candy *any reward is at the teachers discretion

Motivation
Students are motivated to work together to learn the objective in order to receive the group reward. This allows the higher achievers to teach the lower achievers the concept and help put the terms on their level. The reward not only gives the students incentive to work hard and together, but recognizes everyone collectively (not just the leader of the group)

Planning for whole-group instruction (This is just the normal preparation you would do for teaching any regular lesson) Organizing Groups (This is to e done prior to the class day, and your goal is to create diverse groups just like with the !igsaw model) Planning for Team Study ("ive students clearly defined learning o jectives, give them some form of study materials) Calculating Base Scores & Impro ement Points (All students are to e recogni#ed for their effort. Students are given imprvmnt.score.

So what? What is important to understand about this?

Allows all students to receive acknowledgement for their efforts and skills put forth in the assignment. Grades are based not on the specific task at hand, but the students improvement in the class thus far.
