Rhetorical Analysis Of Our Shutdown It seems that our country is, at times, behaving like a teenage girl.

Desperate for attention and to be liked by everyone else, she will do all she can to make a scene. Our government shutting down is ust another scene. As soon as the !ouse of Representatives were not able to get what they wanted, they stombed their feet and refused to agree with the budge preposed by the Senate. Of course, some of us find it humorous that the government shut down because they could not agree on how to spend money the country does not have. "o#$ews, run by Republicans, of course deny that its their fault. Additionaly, they even include !ouse Speaker %ohn &oehner who stated '(he fact is that washington Democrats have slammed the door on reopening the governmet by refusing to engage in bipartisan talks.)) In other terms, he made the Democrats sound like they are being stubborn. Since this is "o#$ews, you know you will only hear one side oo the story. So what you will not hear is that the reason the new budget will have so much to do with this Affordable *are Act +aka A*A, aka Obamacare, is because it will re-uire funding from the "ederal &udget for this coming fiscal year. (he Republican)s version of the "ederal &udget would de.fund the A*A, so it will cancel it. (he Senate, run by Democrats, would have budget that would fund A*A by the "ederal &udget. /hat the bottom line of this is is that the Republicans +in the !ouse of Representatives, do not want a budget that would fund Obamacare and so they are using their power of budget approval to stall. (his is something that will not win favor from the public and so it will not be on "o#$ews. In other words, it will be for the audience on *$$. (his article came to acomplish telling the truth the old fashion way0 -uick and easy.

It seems that there is some humour to the goverment shutting down, as portrayed in the article '12 "un (hings 3ou 4ust Do During the 5overnemt Shutdown' "rom what there is to infer, it is a sort of story line to which one)s day can be affected by the shutdown. It talks about how national parks are closed and how certain actions can get in arrested. (here is no actual reason for this strange article if it can even be called that. "or one, the 12 things to do are not individual0 they are in oder and are not very factual. /hile some might argue that it was a waste of their time for reading it, others might might have en oyed it)s rela#ed message. /hat could this message be6 /ell for one thing +towards the end of it after all the things you could not do because of the shutdown, it says if you were in the middle of an audit by the IRS, it will have to be on put on hold. I would say this would be for the general public, indiferent of their political affiliation. /e go back to making the Republicans feel at fault in the 7s-uire0 more specificaly in the article '(his is /hat (hey /ant.' In a very 'read between the lines way' we can infer that the shutdown is what the Republicans wanted all along because it delays any progress from the Democrats. "rom there it moves on to corporate money and how it affects the little people. Summoned up it stated that corporate money not only had to disable the institutions of self.government that are the people)s only real protection, it had to do so in such a way that the people e#pect less and less of the government and, therefore, less and less of each other, acting in the interest of the political commonwealth. In other words, corporations work in ways to make people loose interest in the government. !ow does this even relate to what is happening going on today6 (here is little sense made in the article about the conflict at hand. *orporations have nothing to do with interests such as raising the debt ceiling and getting the Republicans to agree with

the Democrats on budget cuts. /e have a Democratic president in office, so any bickering done by the Republicans should ust be left at that instead of interfering in ways that could hurt the public. In every article you will find about the shutdown, there will be finger pointing on who)s doing the wrong between the !ouse and Senate. !owever, pointing the finger at corporations seems a bit sillly and widespread.
