As a Purchase Engineer we had to get quotations from various vendors regarding the different material according to the give specifications needed. We were in touch with the design department for this reason so as to get a confirmation from their side. A comparison sheet is prepared and then the best price along with the vendor's negotiated terms and conditions is selected and a Purchase Order is prepared for the same and delivered to the vendor. Follow up with the vendor regarding the material till the material reaches the destination and bill for the same is received. ASME, founded as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach."[1] ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Expediting is a concept in purchasing and project management for securing the quality and timely delivery of goods and components.[1] The procurement department or an external expeditor controls the progress of manufacturing at the supplier concerning quality, packing, conformity with standards and set timelines. Thus the expeditor makes sure that the required goods arrive at the appointed date in the agreed quality at the agreed location.
ISO helps you to define a process and follow it consistently and not just a documented activity where as six sigma helps you to improve the existing process ISO defines the process.. Six Sigma improves the process.. SO 14000 is a family of standards related to environmental management that exists to help organizations (a) minimize how their operations (processes etc.) negatively affect the environment (i.e. cause adverse changes to air, water, or land); (b) comply with applicable laws, regulations, and other environmentally oriented requirements, and (c) continually improve in the above.

The ISO 9000 family of standards is related to quality management systems and designed to help organizations ensure that they meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders[1] while meeting statutory and regulatory requirements related to the product. The standards are published by ISO, the International Organization for Standardization, and available through National standards bodies. ISO 9000 deals with the fundamentals of quality management systems,[2] including the eight management principles[2][3] on which the family of standards is based. ISO 9001 deals with the requirements that organizations wishing to meet the standard have to fulfill.[4]

ntroduction to SAP
Introduction to SAP the Company

Five former IBM employees founded SAP in 1972 in Germany. The vision was to develop standard

application software for real-time business processing. The first releases, called R1 and R2, were mainframe-only applications. SAP started with a set of Financial applications and then added logistics, manufacturing, and HR. In the 1980s, they moved to a true 3-tiered client-server solution and by the early 1990s, R/3 was released to the market. Introduction to SAP the Software

In 2000, SAP renamed their solution mySAP and released the latest version of SAP, ECC or Enterprise Core Component, and the most recent release is ECC 6.0. SAP's current release strategy is to provide Enhancement Packs with additional functionality instead of releasing new versions of the software. SAP's Enhancement Pack strategy eliminates major upgrades and allows customers to choose which enhancements to apply to their systems. SAP Module Introduction

SAP's solution includes a number of functional modules, which support transactions to execute key business processes, such as:

Financial Accounting (FI) Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) Controlling (CO) Materials Management (MM) Sales and Distribution (SD) Logistics Execution (LE) Production Planning (PP) Quality Management (QM) Plant Maintenance (PM) Project System (PS) Human Resources (HR)
