STEPS CONTENT TEACHING AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES REMARKS
Set Revision : 1. Teacher discusses the basis of multiplying two linear Recalling
Induction To multiply two linear expressions by giving two simple examples. Students learn by recalling
(10 minutes) expressions. Example 1 what they have previously
x (2x) = 2x2 learnt in early subtopic.
Example 2
x(x + 3) = x2 + 3x
2. Teacher raises the level of difficulty by asking,
“How do you multiply (x + 2)(x – 5)?”
3. Teacher shows the method of multiplying (x + 2)(x – 5).
4. Students are then asked, “How do you multiply
(2x – 5)(3x + 7)?”
Step 1 Introduction : 1. Students form two groups. Mastery learning
(20 minutes) To form quadratic 2. Group A gives a linear expression and group B gives Students master the
expression by another linear expression. A student from group A then technique of multiplying
multiplying any two multiplies the two linear expressions to form a quadratic and factorizing algebraic
linear expressions. expression. Teacher determines whether the quadratic expression.
expression is correct.
3. Subsequently, Group B gives a linear expression and
group A gives another linear expression. A student from
group B then multiplies the two linear expressions to form a
quadratic expression. Teacher determines whether the
quadratic expression is correct.
4. After each group has formed ten quadratic expressions, the
group with the highest score is the winner.
Step 2 Development I : 1. Students are asked to refer to Example 2 and Work This Constructivism

given situations.
iii) Each group presents their answers on the black board.
