Auxiliary Verbs

Teacher‛s Notes
Type of activity Grammar. Whole class.
Objective To help students practice auxiliary verbs
in a fun, tactile way.
Materials Worksheets, glue, scissors.

Preparation Make copies of the worksheet for each


student or each group of students.

Time Fifteen minutes.

Procedure 1. Divide the class into groups of two to four students.


If you have a smaller class, you could have students
work individually.
2. Have the students cut out all the auxiliary verbs from
the side of the worksheet.
3. Give the students 60 seconds to put all the auxiliary
verbs in the correct place on the worksheet. Time
could be varied for lower level students.
4. Circulate and give some help where needed.
5. When finished, check that everybody has the correct
answers. Then, distribute glue for the students to glue
their auxiliary verbs to the worksheet.

Notes and This could also be used as a test.
