CORIANDER Coriander futures ended weak on profit booking after rising in the recent trading sessions. As per market source, coriander acreage in the rabi season is estimated to fall !"# percent this $ear in Ra%asthan as hea&$ rains in the last '! ( weeks in the state has further slowed sowing. According to data from I)D, rainfall in west Ra%asthan during Oct "! No& "', the peak season for sowing of the spice, was "#.* mm, *( percent abo&e normal, while rainfall in east Ra%asthan was '#. mm, percent abo&e normal. CA+,OR+EED Castor seed futures dropped as in&estors booked profits and arri&als impro&ed in spot markets. On the other hand spot castor was traded higher due to good demand from millers and e-porters. According to market sources, e-port demand in castor oil has increased in past few da$s and therefore, mills. bu$ing is good this time. C/I00I Chilli prices traded higher on concern o&er the standing crop due to c$clone caution in Andhra 1radesh. India )eteorological Department warned of a se&ere c$clone hitting Andhra 1radesh b$ 2rida$ afternoon or e&ening, which could bring e-tremel$ hea&$ rains to isolated places o&er there. As per the latest report from Andhra 1radesh Agriculture Department, acreage under chilli in the state as on 3#th No&ember 3#"' rose "#.* percent to 3'45' hectares. ,6R)ERIC ,urmeric futures were down on profit booking. Robust demand from north Indian bu$ers is likel$ to push up turmeric prices in coming da$s. E-pectations of a rise in e-port en7uiries ma$ also support turmeric prices
