She also had some much8acclaimed concerts in 7aris DSalle 7leyel and 7alais GarnierE and in )os Angeles. +n September last year she performed in Marseille the title role in the world premiere of the opera Marius et Fanny of the composer /ladimir (osma. +n -ovember she sang a series of much8praised performances of )a Rondine in San Francisco. ?hen Ms. Gheorghiu sang lately )a oheme at the MA1 in -ew .or!, the performance was transmitted in cinemas to an audience of over one million and five hundred thousand people. All these performances and recitals have confirmed Ms. Gheorghiu"s status as one of the most beloved stars of opera.
