AGE UK Bolton, which works with and on behalf of older people, holds its annual meeting on Wednesday, November 27, at 3pm, at its Ashburner Street Centre. The meeting will be chaired by honorary vicepresident Professor Clive Willis. All are welcome to attend.

HUNDREDS of people can now have their hearing checked and hearing aids serviced in the community. Staff from Action On Hearing Loss have been working with the audiology department at the Royal Bolton Hospital. They are now treating between 350 and 400 people each month at libraries and GP surgeries around Bolton. The waiting area also provides a social environment for elderly patients. They usually have a nice chat and discuss how they maintain their hearing aids, and some strike up good friendships.
