Given that the Kindergarten class of 20112012 will be the first class of third graders to take the SBAC Assessments, the transition to CCSS in Kindergarten can occur in the 2011 2012 school year. What adjustments would need to be made in the 2011 2012 school year in district curriculums in KG and grade 1 as a result of transitioning to the CCSS in Kg?

Considering your curriculum you may find your highlighted versions of the GLEs for your grade/course to be beneficial in determining shifts and changes.

Bringing CCSS into the present

As you begin updating curriculum, consider:
Content that will be assessed on the current MAP and EOC assessments through the 2014 school year Content you may be including simply because its in the textbook Content that may be a favorite of yours teach, but may not currently be assessed nor will it be assessed on the SBAC assessments

Bringing CCSS into the present developing your leadership team.

While district curriculums must be updated by individual teachers and/or teams of teachers, the transition to the CCSS should be a district endeavor.
