Battleground Update for CLF Supporters

---

Today, Republicans in the House have a hard-fought majority over Democrats. In 2012, the Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF) successfully helped elect Republicans in the most contested seats on the map. So much so that the Sunlight Foundation rated CLFs expenditures the highest return on investment of any GOP super PAC in 2012. Were not taking anything for granted and already were preparing for 2014. This memo contains key information on the national landscape, our top pick-up opportunities, and the path to victory in 2014, so we can retain and expand the House Republican majority. The Landscape
Political Pulse
By comparison, Democrats enjoyed a 5.6 point advantage a month ago. Based on the Real Clear Politics (RCP) Poll Average of the Generic Congressional Vote Democrats have a one point advantage over Republicans in a generic ballot and the separation is narrowing following the disastrous rollout of Obamacare.

The Money Run

Thanks to their special interest allies and labor unions, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) currently have a fundraising edge over the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC). Thats why the Congressional Leadership Fund is here: to close the gap and help our candidates win in competitive races.

The Battlelines
The launch of Obamacare continues to be a disaster and Democrats in Congress own it. Voters are angry at congressional Democrats for lying to them about being able to keep their health plans and doctors if they like them. Enrollment in the health exchanges falls below President Obamas goals and attempts to fix broken pieces of Obamacare (from the website to canceled plans) have failed. Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress continue to hold the President and his administration accountable to the American people, fight for a plan to get our nations debt under control, and work to grow the economy with fewer regulations and more jobs.

Top Pickup Opportunities

To stop Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama from regaining control of the House, Republicans have to defeat incumbent Democrats representing Republican-leaning districts like those listed here: Congressional Democrats in Republican-leaning districts 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Jim Matheson (UT-4) R+16 Nick Rahall (WV-3) R+14 Mike McIntyre (NC-7) R+12 John Barrow (GA-12) R+9 Joe Garcia (FL-26) R+1
