Whats the best way that you can prepare for Mathematics Applied?

Tailor GradeTM is a summer mathematics program made to fit. This program is designed for students who are making the transition from high school to college and would like to improve their mathematics and their study skills prior to undertaking Mathematics Applied. The Program: The primary goal of Tailor GradeTM is to provide participants with a positive encounter with mathematics that will give them the tools and, more importantly, the confidence to tackle college mathematics. Through the use of upcoming e-learning technology, interactive group activities, and a pace tailored to the class, many of the mathematical and conceptual tools that are required for the Mathematics Applied curriculum will be explored. Tailor GradeTM will also touch on learning, focus and motivational techniques and resource (talks, websites, videos, books) that can be applied to mathematics, other school subjects and life more generally. Class size is limited to 10 participants per class. Additionally, each student will have a 1 on 1 session with the facilitator, Ollie, prior to the commencement of the course to ensure that all questions are answered and that participants feel well supported. About the Facilitator: Ollie is a 4th year University of Tasmania student majoring in Physics and Economics. He has extensive experience in mathematics tutoring and facilitation in a wider context. He has tutored Mathematics students since 2008 and has worked for UTas running Peer Assisted Study Sessions, dynamic interactive sessions for first year Physics Students, from 2011 to 2012. He has developed Tailor GradeTM because through his tutoring experiences he has identified several common tools and techniques that can help students to improve their mathematics and he is excited about sharing these tools and techniques in an engaging learning environment. He achieved an ATAR score of 99.75 upon graduation in 2008. Where? When? Cost? Tailor GradeTM will be held at the University of Tasmania, Sandy Bay campus Over 4 weeks beginning Jan 6th (the 4 weeks before term 1) with two 2-hour sessions per week (session times to be organised in co-ordination with participants) The cost of the program is $360 per participant ($330 early bird, prior to Dec 6th) Save an additional $30 per participant by booking in groups of 2 or more
