13-28388

Alexander L. Thomas (age 18) of Hampton Bays was arrested on 12-24-2013 at 10:47 PM in Hampton Bays after police received a 911 call from a resident who stated that a subject had just been rummaging through several vehicles which were parked in their driveway during a party. After being confronted by one of the residents, the subject fled on foot. Arriving officers set up a perimeter to contain the subject and called for K9 assistance. Suffolk Sheriffs K9 responded to the scene. During the K9 track another area resident called 911 to report that there was a subject in their back yard. Officers responded to the residence, located the subject and after a brief foot pursuit, apprehended him. The witness identified Thomas as the subject who had been searching through the vehicles. Upon his apprehension Thomas was found to be in possession of stolen prescription medication, a stolen iPod, cash and marihuana which he also admitted to having stolen out of a vehicle. He was charged with Petit Larceny, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, all misdemeanors and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a violation. He was released on an appearance ticket to return to court on a future date for arraignment. 13-28410 Jason D. Hopson (age 41) was arrested on 12-25-2013 at 8:19 PM at Southampton Hospital. Hopson had sustained a minor injury during a dispute in Bridgehampton to which the police were called. During the investigation it was learned that Hopson had an active bench warrant for failing to appear on a prior DWI charge. He was transported to by ambulance, to Southampton Hospital for treatment and arrested upon his discharge. 13-28415 Winfield C. Jessup (age 53) of Westhampton was arrested in Westhampton on 12-25-13 at 7:21 PM. Police received a 911 call of an erratic motorist who had driven off the road, struck some shrubs and continued on. Officers located Jessup and upon interview he was found to be intoxicated. Jessup was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing. He was charged with Aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor.
