Here’s the skinny on Tom’s hamburgers:
They’re not humongous, or grilled with
mesquite or anything like that. They’re
just 5 and 1/3 ounces (three patties to
the pound) of Coleman’s 85-percent-
lean natural beef cooked the way you
like ’em and served on a bun. Order the
basic plain burger, a cheeseburger or a
bacon-cheese (owner Tom Eldridge’s
favorite), or a chili burger topped with

Winning four different categories is a testament to the
restaurant that manager Jason Berger describes as “casual,
upbeat and fun.” Happy Hour is Monday through
Friday from 3 to 6:30 p.m. and includes half off all tapas;
margarita pizzas for $3.50; and a dollar off house red and
white wine, well mixed drinks, red and white sangria and
draft beer. If you’re in the mood for something swankier,
try the Buffalo Margarita, made by mixing Petrone
Silver, Cointreau, fresh lime juice and a splash of orange
juice, and then shaken. Hard. Another favorite is the
Pomtini, made with Pearl pomegranate vodka and a
splash of Chambourd. Enjoy these refreshments on the
newly remodeled patio, featuring a new fountain and
mosaic, designed in a classic Mediterranean fashion
and riddled with flowers. Once you’re settled in, take
some time to peruse the 40 different appetizers. If
you’re feeling overwhelmed by deliciousness, try one of
the favorites: grilled skirt steak with olive oil and bleu
cheese crumbles; grilled, marinated lamb brochettes; or
caprese with fresh, homemade mozzarella. Berger adds,
“Generally people say we have the best fried calamari
in town.” Given the fabulous patio; the wealth of
unique and authentic appetizers and the stellar happy
hour, how could the Med NOT be the best after-work
gathering spot in town? But don’t worry – the Med is
known for taking very large parties, serving groups
between 20 and 50 every night. And it doesn’t hurt BEST DELI

Despite repeated
attempts, manager Brian
Cross refuses to give up
the secret recipe for the
one-of-a-kind margaritas
famous in Boulder. He
claims nobody but the
original creators know it
and they’re not singing.
Reaching mythological
proportions, the
margarita that captured
hearts and palates some
20 years ago are available
on the rocks or frozen,
and there’s even a frozen
strawberry version. If
you’re looking to try
something different, try
the frozen agave martini, made for tequila aficionados who can choose their
poison before it’s mixed with Triplesec, lemon-lime mix and Grand Marnier.
The Rio Marg is limited to three per person, and while the claim is that it’s
for safety, the reality might be that it’d be just too much tart and tangy
goodness for anyone to handle.

For voting us one of the
BEST COLORADO SKI RESORT VAIL
P.O. Box 7, Vail • 970.476.9090 • www.vail.com
Best stores in Boulder!
It’s no wonder Vail was chosen by Boulder County residents – yet again –
as Colorado’s best ski resort. Just look at the numbers – sunny days each
year: 300; average annual snowfall: 346 inches; total number of lifts: 33;
number of conventional ski trails: 193; number of terrain parks: 4
(including one 400-foot-long Superpipe with 18-foot walls); longest run:
4 miles; and vertical rise (from base to peak): 3,450 feet. But if those
numbers aren’t enough to convince you, did you know that Vail, with
5,289 skiable acres, is the largest ski resort in the United States? Or did
you know that Vail boasts the most groomed terrain in the world? Or how
about the fact that you can find seven back bowls (yes, that was SEVEN)
Paper Doll
stretching six miles (yes, you read that correctly, also). Not to mention,
Vail offers many specialty programs and ski classes. So regardless of your
skiing abilities, Vail offers a little something for everyone – or, to put it
more accurately, “a lot of something for everyone.”

Setting itself apart from your standard day camp, the Peanut Butter Players
have spent 20 years creating an environment of theatrical education for
children. Many participants have no previous experience with theatre
productions and there is no audition process. Students study an American
musical, learning the songs and dances in the span of a week and then
apparel, swimwear & lingerie presenting that show to the community. While the majority of the programs
occur over the summer in one-week sessions, there are lunchtime and after-
school classes as well as workshops available for students from pre-school to
high-school ages. At the end of the program however, the lessons learned
revolve around self-esteem and comfort speaking in front of groups – and
