Please contact Charis or Kate if you can help at any point during this
event. It is truly a wonderful event and an honor to be allowed to help,
but we must have your name for you to get in.
Other Clubs interested?
If you are a member of another club or organization that would like to
volunteer their time at the craft tent, please speak to Charis about
reserving a space. P.S. Other Clubs on campus may use their inter-club
funds to help with their craft donation!
Clothing Drive!
Tau Iota’s craft for the Harvest Party will be scarecrow making. We are
expecting to make up to 50 scarecrows. However, we need clothes to
put on these scarecrows. To go along with the international service
program related to “going green” we are asking that you donate
clothes to dress these scarecrows up. We are looking for young adult
clothing. Please help us by donating! Email the Chapter e-mail if you
have a donation.
Toy Drive:
We need new and unwrapped take-home toys/items for the children
attending the party. Ages are from 5-17. No stuffed toys, please. Email
the Chapter e-mail if you have a donation.
Satellite Seminars:
Starting in the Beginning of October, we will be showing a series of
seminars directly from Phi Theta Kappa International. The purpose of
2
these seminars is to “Promote interaction among disciplines by
involving the faculty from various departments on campus, such as the
history, political science, religion, economics, sociology, philosophy,
and psychology departments.” An OCC faculty/staff member will follow
these Seminars for a discussion. The seminars will be tentatively
scheduled to be in the Technology Building Lecture Happ.
Refreshments will be served! For more information on these seminars,
visit www.ptk.org and check our blog soon for the dates.
(Both meetings are the same. Attendance to only one meeting is necessary
though you're welcome to come to both. This way, you can meet your
officers (new and old) and fellow members)
