Fixed Settings
Last updated: June 26, 2009 In some tests, C.S0033 specifies particular values for parameters that are fixed in the test set. The following table describes the key fixed parameters and what values they are fixed to in the test set. Fixed Settings Setting Description Indicates the amount of time offset for start of the access probe. It is sent in the AccessParameters Message when the Enhanced Access Channel MAC Protocol is in use. If the ACK Channel Bit value is '0', the access terminal shall receive packets on the Forward Traffic Channel as if all the packets were successfully received in one slot duration. Even if a packet has not been successfully decoded in a single slot and its full-length in slots is greater than one, the access terminal shall stop receiving the packet after one slot. It shall accordingly continue generating and transmitting Loop Back Packets, if the Loop Back mode is enabled. Fixed Value 0 slot ('00')

Traffic Channel data packets. It effectively enables or disables active early termination of the reverse data packets. Active ARQ When it is Disabled, the ACK R-Data After determines what bits are sent on the ARQ channels in response to the received Reverse Traffic Channel data packets. Indicates the duration of the PL_2 RETAP Test Packet generation period (in units of 600 slots). It is sent in the RETAPParameterAssignment Message of the Enhanced Test Application Protocol. A setting of '0xFFFF' for Burst Period corresponds to infinite burst resulting in continuous reverse traffic packets. Indicates the burst size generated at the beginning of the PL_2 RETAP Test Packet generation period (in units of 1000 octets). It is sent in the RETAPParameterAssignment Message of the Enhanced Test Application Protocol. A setting of '0xFFFF' for Burst Size corresponds to full buffer resulting in continuous reverse traffic packets. Connection Request Timeout See Connection Request State . 3.5 s Disabled

Forward Link Early Termination

For the test application protocols (TAP or ETAP), forced single encapsulation is required to ensure there is a one to one mapping between application packets and physical layer packets. See Session Application For the Default Packet Application (DPA), this Type . setting is fixed to off so that packets can be consolidated to increase the throughput. Indicates whether the forward link data packets are early terminated in response to the received Reverse ACK Channel (R-ACK). It effectively enables or disables active early termination of the forward link data packets. Disabled When it is Disabled, Max Forward Packet Duration and the received DRC determine how many slots are transmitted for the current forward link data packet regardless of what is sent on the R-ACK channel.
