BGRIMM AUTOMATION

3 Operation
3.1 Preparatory Work before Boot
1. Check whether the cable plug of pulp level measuring device is firm 2. Check whether the floating components are clean. 3. Check whether the sprinkler is normal. 4. Check whether the gas-supply hand valve and every component for gas supply pipeline are normal. 5. The Manual / automatic ball valve of pneumatic actuator should be closed. 6. Hand wheels screw rod should be separated from the cylinder piston stem, and returned in sleeve completely. 7. Check whether the signal cables and power cable connect correctly. Refer to external wiring drawing. 8. Check whether the external wiring of PLC control cabinet is correct.

3.2 Boot Steps

1. Open the air-supply hand valve, and observe the manometer which should indicate 0.5MPa. If deviation, the knob in the upper part of the filter and reducing valve should be took up and rotated clockwise/anticlockwise to adjust the air pressure to the value of 0.5 MPa. 2. Put on instrument. 3. The digital indicator perform a power-on-self-test, then enter into the normal operating (or the initial state). the switch of field operating panel and observe the servo manual operated

BGRIMM AUTOMATION

3.3 Instrument Panel operating Instructions

3.3.1 Instrument Panel Description 1. Pulp Level indicating Instrument Indicates the value of flotation pulp level, range: 0-500mm, which is inputted via level measuring instrument 2. Servo manual operated instrument The A/M on the servo manual operated instrument panel means manual / automatic switch key. When indicator light of MAN is on, spot-manual control can be conducted, and dart valve can be controlled via and key. SV shows the manual output value. When indicator light of MAN is out, It is controlled by remote PLC. SV shows the output value given by remote PLC , and MV shows feedback value of pneumatic actuator. 3.3.2 Manual Operation After self-test, sub-controller enters into manual control mode. When the MAN indicator light is on, it can regulate the opening of pneumatic actuator through pressing or key. To prevent over-tune, resulting in excessive fluctuations in the level, the output value should change subsection and slowly 3.3.3 Automatic Regulation After pulp level is stabled, it can be changed to remote control mode and input the level setting value of flotation bank. Then it can be changed to the automatic mode, PLC controller will compare and calculate according to level measuring value and level setting value to self-regulate the output of pneumatic actuator, which keep invariableness of pulp level. At auto control mode, if pulp inlet was in a large fluctuation, it would be disorder easily for level automatic system and be fall short of control precision. It suggests that it should be changed to manual mode. After level was stable, it can be changed to auto mode again.

BGRIMM AUTOMATION

4 Troubleshooting
4.1 BlackoutGas Stop
When the power is out, the sub-controller does not have output signal (4mA), and then the pneumatic regulating valve will be back to original position. After power-on, the output of sub-controller is zero (4mA), so level need to be regulated manually over again. After the level is in stable, it will be switched into automatic mode. When gas supply stops in the state of field manual mode or remote manual mode, pneumatic regulating valve would be automatically locked to the current position. If in the state of automatic mode, it should be switched into the field manual mode or remote manual mode. After restoration of gas supply, it should manually regulate the dart valve into suitable position once again. After level is in stable, it can enter into the auto mode.

4.2 No Working of Pneumatic actuator

Firstly, check whether the gas supply is working. If gas-supply stops, it can just operate as 4.1; if gas supply is working, it need to check whether the output of controller is working as follow steps: enter into the field manual mode, and then regulate the pneumatic actuator via sub-controllers. If the pneumatic actuator doesnt work, it need to close the gas-supply valve, open the ball valve of pneumatic actuator, and connect the hand wheel screw and the piston rod of pneumatic actuator well, and then regulate the level via sub-controller. If you meet such problem, please contact with us as soon as possible. We will send an engineer to deal with this problem timely on spot. Attention: the problem is uncommon. Do not use the hand wheel of the pneumatic actuator usually! Before using the hand wheel, lubricant should be added on the hand wheel screw!

BGRIMM AUTOMATION damage. The parameters do not modify it at random. After using, close and lock the outside door of the field operating panel to prevent corrosive gases and dust from being into the operating panel and even causing electrical fault.

4.2 Manual State and Auto State

This instrument has two operating states, auto state and manual state. In the normal operating state, press lamp will flash. Press will be off. The current output value follows the manual control input value (setting value). The parameters, SV_L and SV_H, are used to set the manual control input low range and high range. Their range are -1999~9999. MO_L and MO_H, are used to set the current output low limit and high limit. There range are 0~100%. For example, if setting SV_L=100.0 SV_H=999.9, then in the manual state, when the SV window displays the manual control input low range value, the current output value is equal to the minimum value of valve position manual output signal range(its low limit MO_L). When the SV window displays the manual control input high range value, the current output value is equal to the maximum value of valve position manual output signal range (its high limit MO_H). For example, if setting MO_L=30, MO_H=80, then the minimum value of the current output is equal to 30% of full scale and the maximum value of the current output is equal to 80% of full scale. Here the parameters, MO_L and MO_H, are used to set the valve position feedback output low limit and high limit to control when positive/negative rotation output stops. Their range are 0~100%. In this state the single key control operation method of explained in detail as followed: A. When pressing key, the output is positive rotation. It cant stop until this key is and key is for 2 sec to switch from auto to manual state and MAN indicator for 2 sec again to switch back auto state and MAN indicator lamp

released or the valve position feedback value reaches MO_H. B When pressing key, the output is negative rotation. It cant stop until this key is

released or the valve position feedback value reaches MO_L. C. When output. The instrument receives the control input signal and outputs the current signal for valve
27

and

are pressed or released at the same time, there is no signal

BGRIMM AUTOMATION setting. In the auto state, the output valve position open degree percent value equals the input one. The output is isolated from the input. The parameters, AO_L and AO_H, are used to set the current output low limit and high limit. Their range are 0~100%. For example, if setting AO_L=10,AO_H=90, then the minimum value of the current output is equal to 10% of full scale and the maximum value of the current output is equal to 90% of full scale. The switching from auto to manual state is without disturbance.

4.3 Valve Position Feedback Adjustment

Only in the manual state and when valve position adjustment is allowed, the user is able to execute valve position adjustment. After valve position adjustment is allowed, the single key control of

Why the instrument cannot exit from adjustment process? When the adjustment operation is at the parameter normal operating state by pressing , if it can not return the
