GUNDERSONS JEWELERS IS PROUD TO INTRODUCE FROM SOLDIER TO SOLDIER, AN AWARENESS AND FUND-RAISING CAMPAIGN IN SUPPORT OF WOUNDED VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
The campaign is based on the sales of a designer version of the survival and friendship bracelets worn by many US and allied soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. For every bracelet sold in Sioux City or Sioux Falls, $20 will be donated to Homes For Our Troops. The campaign is part of a national effort to raise signicant funds for veterans aid organizations and bring attention to the special needs of returning heroes. We are very pleased to partner with Gundersons Jewelers in support of this unifying cause, stated Niels Christiansen, CEO of LovelinksAmerica, the Massachusetts Company behind the national campaign. From Soldier To Soldier is neither for nor against war. It is for our young men and women who put their lives on the line for our country and made horric sacrices. It is about the survival, friendship and commitment symbolized by these bracelets.
The bracelets in the eld are braided by the soldiers with parachute cord. They are known as survival bracelets because they can be unraveled and the paracord can be used for many purposes in a pinch. They are also exchanged among the soldiers as friendship bracelets. Often a uniform button is sewn on and used as the clasp. The designer version has a sterling silver clasp shaped like a uniform button and is extremely tightly braided. Sterling silver and gold plated sterling silver heart clasps with, and without, a small diamond are also available. The button clasp symbolizes the uniform. The clasped bracelet symbolizes the bond among the soldiers that can never be broken. To some, each knot in the bracelet symbolizes a fallen hero.

BACKGROUND
THE LAVISH WORLD OF RED CARPETS, DESIGNER DIAMONDS AND TOP-NOTCH PARTIES JUST MOVED A FEW DEGREES CLOSER TO SIOUX CITY AND SIOUX FALLS. GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO MIX WITH SOME OF THE WORLDS ELITE, WE HAVE MADE CONNECTIONS WITH MOVIE STARS, POLITICIANS, ATHLETES AND CELEBRITIES.
Nearly 25 years ago, Brian Gunderson met Kory, a former pole vaulter for the U.S. Olympic Team. At that time, Kory was searching for the perfect engagement ring and with Brians assistance he found it here at Gundersons Jewelers. Through this association, Brian and Kory soon became close friends. Unexpectedly, after Kory relocated to Monaco, this friendship created an opportunity for us to move Gundersons Jewelers into the world of the jet set. Located along the beautiful French Riviera, Monaco is frequented by the rich and famous in pursuit of relaxation, gambling, entertainment and sports venues, all enjoyed in picturesque settings. Kory also became friends with Prince Albert II of Monaco and they travel together to attend a variety of sporting events.

On Brians rst trip to visit Kory in Monaco, he was introduced to a variety of prominent people. The rst of these encounters took place at the famous Monaco Grand Prix. This Formula One motor race has been taking place annually since 1929 and is commonly referred to as the most prestigious automobile race in the world. Brian attended the Monaco Grand Prix alongside Kory who introduced him to Prince Albert II of Monaco. Brian was then invited to attend Prince Albert IIs lavish cocktail party aboard his yacht. Brian attended the cocktail party with fellow Gundersons group members, one of whom is a graduate of Morningside College. Ironically, at the Princes cocktail party, they stumbled upon another Morningside College graduate. This amazing coincidence truly demonstrates the concept of a small world! Following the cocktail party, Brian was fortunate to attend the Monte Carlo Masters as the Princes guest. In another small world encounter, Brian had the chance to meet two former Nebraska Cornhusker standouts, Ndamukong Suh and Cody Glenn. Both were in Monaco for some pre-NFL training. Suh later played for the Detroit Lions and Glenn was drafted by the Washington Redskins.

In February 2011, Brian attended Sir Elton Johns 19th Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party at the Pacic Design Center in West Hollywood. This high-prole event was founded in 1993 by Sir Elton John with proceeds benetting the Elton John Aids Foundation. The Foundation supports innovative HIV/AIDS prevention, education programs, direct care and support services to individuals living with HIV/AIDS. This lavish event for a great cause featured an extraordinary dinner, live auction and special performance by Florence and the Machine. In addition, Brian had the opportunity to attend the private pre-party with Sir Elton John and select celebrities. During this event, Brian was seated near Kelly Osborne, Smokey Robinson and Quincy Jones, and directly next to Sir Ben Kingsley and his wife, Daniela Lavender. Gundersons Jewelers was a featured advertisement in the evenings program.

BRITISH ACADEMY OF FILM AND TELEVISION ARTS

Several months following the Academy Awards Viewing Party, Brian had another star-studded adventure while attending the 2011 Britannia Awards at the Beverly Hills Hilton. Established in 1987, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) forms a connection between Hollywood and British production and entertainment communities. The highest award offered by BAFTA is the Britannia Award which annually honors the dedication of individuals and companies who advance entertainment communities. The 2011 Britannia Awards honored Warren Beatty, Helena Bonham Carter, John Lasseter, Ben Stiller and David Yates. During this experience, Brian was fortunate enough to participate in the Red Carpet Walk which included a VIP Cocktail Party and attendance to the Main Event. He also had the honor of meeting Warren Beatty, Annette Benning, Morgan Freeman, Robin Williams, Shirley Maclaine and Dame Helen Mirren. The evenings program featured a Gundersons Jewelers advertisement.

2011
Among Brians long-list of adventures came the Hugo movie premiere in November 2011. From award-winning director Martin Scorsese, the critically acclaimed Hugo follows the life of a young, recently orphaned boy living inside a Parisian train station clock. Starring Sir Ben Kingsley, Sacha Baron Cohen and Asa Buttereld, the movie went on to win ve Oscars. Brian attended the premiere with Sir Ben Kingsley and Daniela Lavender. Brian was also honored to provide a jewelry ensemble for Daniela to wear at the event which he personally delivered to their suite at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. During the gala event, Brian met director Martin Scorsese and actress Sacha Baron Cohen.

After providing a jewelry ensemble for Daniela Lavender at the Hugo movie premiere, Gundersons Jewelers was given the exclusive opportunity to select all the jewelry ensembles for a new in-production movie titled, A Birders Guide to Everything. The movie stars Sir Ben Kingsley, Kodi Smit-McPhee, James LeGros and Daniela Lavender. This coming-of-age comedy follows the life of young high school student and bird enthusiast, David Portnoy. The adventure begins when David spots an extinct duck. Anticipating a once in a lifetime opportunity, he proceeds to rally a few of his close friends to take a road trip to locate the bird. The release date for A Birders Guide to Everything is set for January 2013.

Reality-based television series, Kendra, followed the life of Kendra Wilkinson and her former NFL wide receiver husband Hank Baskett. The E! Entertainment Television series premiered in 2009 with the networks highest ratings since The Anna Nicole Show in 2002. Breanne Wittrock of Gundersons Jewelers made a special appearance on a 2011 episode of Kendra. In the episode, Baskett selected two pairs of earrings for his wife from a Gundersons collection. The former Kendra show recently changed its name to Kendra on Top; it can now be found on WE tv.

Gundersons Jewelers has been invited to attend the upcoming Cannes Film Festival in France on May 15-26th, 2013. The Festival showcases new lms of all genres. Founded in 1946, Cannes has since become the most prestigious and publicized lm festival in the world. Every year the Cannes Film Festival draws in some of the biggest name celebrities. In 2012, Reese Witherspoon, Heidi Klum, Nicole Kidman, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were among those who attended. During the upcoming 2013 Festival, we have been asked to host a Diamonds and Cocktails party. The guest list for the event will feature some of Hollywoods most notable stars, world-famous athletes and other VIPs.

This past year, our team at Gundersons Jewelers held a coexhibition in accordance with the Ansel Adams: Masterworks Exhibition. This special two-day exhibition was titled, Ansel Rocks. It featured a multimillion dollar collection of rare colored diamonds and gemstones alongside notable Ansel Adams black-and-white nature photographs. The exhibition took place at the Washington Pavilion Visual Arts Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Known for their brilliance, natural color diamonds are miracles of nature appearing in a variety of colors and shades. No two natural color diamonds are alike which contributes to the uniqueness and rarity of each gem. During the exhibition, the natural color diamonds and gemstones on display ranged from a stunning black diamond jewelry set to an exquisite 40-carat blue sapphire ring. One of the more popular items was a unique yellow diamond ring.
American photographer Ansel Adams was best known for his black-and-white photographs of the American West. Most of his lifes work was devoted to the countrys remaining pieces of untouched wilderness, especially in national parks. Ansel Adams: Masterworks Exhibition featured a collection of 48 works that captured the drama and beauty of natural environments, including Yosemite National Park and The Sierra Nevada. The Ansel Adams: Masterworks Exhibition was on display for two months at the Washington Pavilion; however, with the help of our team at Gundersons Jewelers, the special two-day Ansel Rocks exhibit was put together to highlight the natural essence of both the black-and-white prints and the natural color diamonds and gemstones.

At Gundersons we have always been known for our custom designs and one-of-a-kind pieces. From the days of hand sketching to todays technology providing Computer Aided Designs (CAD), careful attention to detail and a great deal of thought is applied to each one of our customers pieces. Most designs begin with ideas scribbled on napkins or from newspaper and magazine clippings. We sit down individually with each of our custom design customers taking careful note of their ideas and wishes for the piece.

The custom design process begins with an expert Gundersons designer who translates and develops your vision and ideas into a concept on paper. Our designer then creates a Computer Aided Design (CAD) of your one-of-a-kind piece prior to transforming it into a three dimensional wax cut-out. Once you have approved the cut-out, your design is cast in precious metal, polished to perfection, and set with shimmering diamonds and gemstones to complete your stunning original piece that will be cherished and passed down to future generations.

Known for its mystery and legacy, the Hope Diamond is deep blue in color and weighs 45.52-carats. The infamous diamond changed hands and countries several different times throughout the past few centuries and to each individual that possessed it the Hope Diamond brought unfortunate luck. The diamond can now be found in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
RED CARPET: Gloria Stewart, the actress who played the elderly Rose in the movie Titanic, wore a $20 million dollar, 15-carat, blue diamond necklace to the Academy Awards. FOUND IN ONLY A FEW MINES AROUND THE WORLD, PINK DIAMONDS HAVE BEEN CHERISHED SINCE THE 17TH CENTURY. TODAY, THE ARGYLE MINE IN NORTHWESTERN AUSTRALIA PRODUCES ALMOST ALL OF THE WORLDS SUPPLY. THEIR RARITY IS LEGENDARY. IN FACT, A WHOLE YEAR OF ARGYLES INTENSE PINK DIAMOND PRODUCTION IS SMALL ENOUGH TO FIT IN THE PALM OF ONE HAND.
The most notorious pink diamond is the Williamson Pink Diamond. This diamond was discovered in a Tanzanian diamond mine in 1947. Later, it was given to Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip as a wedding gift; at that time, the uncut diamond weighed 54.5-carats. In 1952, the diamond was cut down to 23.6-carats and placed into the center of a ower brooch. The pink diamond brooch is still owned by Queen Elizabeth II today.
RED CARPET: Pink diamonds sprang into the spotlight when actress Jennifer Lopez received a 6.5-carat pink, radiant-cut diamond engagement ring. While the engagement did not last, the ring drew the attention of fashion leaders around the world. Actress Vivica Fox wore a pink diamond dress by Randi Rahm to the Oscars, paired with a pink diamond ower ring along with pink and yellow natural color diamond earrings. Additionally, Selma Hayek wore a 6.17-carat intense pink diamond to the Academy Awards.

DONALD AND I MET THREE YEARS AGO. AT THAT TIME, WE WERE COWORKERS AT JETSUN AVIATION CENTRE. WE SPENT A FEW MONTHS FLIRTING BUT IT DIDNT BECOME SERIOUS UNTIL THE SUMMER OF 2010. I FELL IN LOVE WITH HIS ABILITY TO MAKE ME LAUGH AND AM THE HAPPIEST WHEN I AM WITH HIM.
I went to Fort Rucker, Alabama with Donald and his family to visit his brother Damon, a second Lieutenant in the Army. During the Saturday we were there Donalds mom had suggested we all go to the beach in Florida. After a three-hour drive to Destin, Florida and an additional 30 minutes to nd parking we walked along the boardwalk which was across the canal from the beach. Getting to the beach required swimming or a boat taxi that was ve dollars per person to ride and as much as I enjoyed the beach, $30 dollars for all of us just wasnt worth it. We all continued to walk a little farther down the boardwalk but Donalds mom kept pushing the two of us to go to the beach together; I nally gave in. After a fteen minute wait for a one minute boat ride, we nally made it to the beach side. I took off my ip-ops eager to feel the Gulf sand for the rst time and to splash in the ocean water. The sky was literally purple and pink as the sun set; the water was so calm and blue against the white sand. After a few minutes of my childish play, Donald called me over and gave me a hug as he said, I love you, which wasnt out of the ordinary because we will randomly say it and even have an ongoing battle of who loves who more. I replied, I love you more, and was surprised when he didnt object like he often does. Instead, Donald said, Then will you do me a favor? I told him yes but before I could even piece it together he got down on one knee and asked, Will you marry me? After a short moment, I realized that I hadnt taken a breath or gotten the chance to reply; I was speechless! I said yes and got teary-eyed as he slipped the most beautiful ring on my nger. Donald and I are getting married on the beach in California and I am beyond happy to say I am marrying the most wonderful man. I cannot wait to say, I do, and to slip on his ring, which Ive had cleverly engraved, I love you more.

Anxious, I wanted to get inside to explain why we were late but instead saw something beautiful, shiny and breathtaking.
On the day Jeff proposed we had gone boating with my parents and made plans to meet some of our friends at my parents house afterward to play games. We were running late after boating and I needed to change before heading over to my parents house; basically, I was rushing. Jeff had originally planned to propose while we were at my house but I was in such a hurry that he didnt have a chance. We quickly got into the truck and began our short journey to my parents house. The entire ride Jeff kept explaining how much he loved me and I concurred. It wasnt anything new; he always expresses how much he loves me. Even though we were running late, Jeff asked me to pull over so he could use the bathroom but I didnt stop until we made it to my parents house. Anxious, I wanted to get inside to explain why we were late but instead saw something beautiful, shiny and breathtaking.
Additionally, I saw the man that I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I had goose bumps and was, for once in my life, speechless. I began to cry and told Jeff, I was so mean today and had no idea. You surprised me. How did you? When did you? Its so beautiful and exactly what I wanted! Later that week, Jeff explained the process he went through to nd my exquisite ring. He found it at Gundersons Jewelers with the help of Deb Willer, a kind and helpful sales associate. Prior to proposing, Bryce called Lexies father to ask for his permission to propose and then proceeded to make arrangements for it to be done on her birthday. With the help of Deb Willer from Gundersons Jewelers, Bryce was able to select the ring by email. Deb sent pictures of rings to both Bryce and Lexies father allowing them to choose their favorite; they both chose the same ring. He then arranged for his mom, Patti, to pick up the ring from Gundersons Jewelers the morning of Lexies birthday. After getting the ring, Patti went to Lexies house to meet up with her parents and once they were all in the room together, Patti texted her son to let him know they were ready. The next step was convincing Lexie to Skype Bryce with all of them present. Knowing she couldnt ght the parental pressure, Lexie brought her laptop up to Skype him. Bryce rst asked Lexie, How was your birthday? and then added, I have one more thing. Will you marry me? Unaware of the situation, they had staged an argument that resulted in me accompanying my sister to the lake. On our way there, I asked my sister why she wanted to go to the lake and her reply was that she just wanted to take some pictures. Once we made it to the lake, my sister started taking pictures of random things; I found it odd but it was a nice day and we were enjoying the sunshine. The two of us walked to the end of a bridge overlooking the water when my sister asked, Do you trust me? I replied, What are you talking about? She then proceeded to blindfold me. As I was gripping onto the bridge railing unsure of the situation, Kyle was walking down the bridge towards us. My sister told me to listen quietly to the water when suddenly, I heard Kyle say, You can turn around now. Kody brought me to his moms work at Gundersons Jewelers to look at rings one day. While we were there he asked which rings I liked best and told me he just wanted ideas for future reference. After enjoying the fun of trying on rings we left the store and went back to Kodys house to hang out. Shortly afterward we decided to head to the lake to spend some time together. When we arrived at the lake it was really cloudy and cold. On the dock we just hugged and talked for a bit until it began pouring rain. We took off running for the car when Kody said, Wait, I have a question for you and as I turned around he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. My eyes got teary as I stared at him in shock and replied, Oh my gosh! Yes, of course. After the proposal, I was still in shock! Since the day I met Kody I knew that he was the one and the most amazing feeling was seeing him on one knee proposing to me. I absolutely adore him and am blessed to have someone like him in my life. As a member of the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI), Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) and the Independent Jewelers Organization (IJO) we have over 10,000 vendors and offer competitive pricing on over 350,000 promotional products. When you contact us for a price quote or an award idea, expect a response back by the next day. If it is an unusual or complex request, an answer will be given within 48 hours. In most cases, we can provide a sample of the award or gift you select allowing you to see the quality of the item prior to making a commitment. As well as providing unique items of outstanding quality, Nordic Premiums also puts the premium in customization, with computerized engraving, graphic design for embroidery or screen printing, and a wide variety of other applications. Everything from t-shirts, hats and sports gear to watches, jewelry, and ne collectibles becomes a canvas for the work of Nordic Premiums talented staff. I think the items we create for our customers are among the best, says Larry Bauer, the Nordic Premiums manager. Our staff conducts an analysis of your companys current program and then customizes a program based on your staff, donors or customers demographics. In custom programs, we can relieve the stress from Human Resources departments by writing a letter to the employee on your companys letterhead, handling the mailing, coordinating the program and delivering the gifts. Our new web presence has allowed us to further expand into a concept known as The Company Store. Customized to a specic business, The Company Store is a way for our clients to provide easy online

Other web extras include our Online Awards Program. In this program, company employees are given the opportunity to select their own recognition gift by logging onto their companys custom designed page.
