1998-2004: Post-Northridge Earthquake hazard mitigation
2004-2005: Review of schools with buildings on or near active earthquake faults
2004-2012:
2004 2012: Replaced MP Building and 2-Story
2 Story Classroom Building at Burbank MS discovered
to be on a fault
2004-2014: University HS Gym was discovered to be on a previously unmapped fault;
Gym was removed and replaced, and the remaining buildings are in the seismic
program for future evaluation and retrofit as needed.
2010-2016: Jordan HS, Fremont HS, Dorsey HS address AB 300 buildings as part of a campus-
wide modernization.
2013-2016: Evaluate and stabilize hillside and classroom building at Marquez ES to prevent
possible collapse in a seismic event.
2014-2019: Structurally evaluate 4474 buildings with suspended plaster ceilings constructed
prior to the 1976 California Building Code.
2014- 2015: Initiate geotechnical investigation of Atwater ES campus for potential mitigation
action due to impact of the newly discovered Hollywood Fault.
