SAU CLUB BASKETBALL

TEAMS: A team consists of 5 players with a minimum of 4 players to start a game.

FREE AGENTS: Once registration closes, free agents will be drafted to teams in precedence of
teams that do not meet the minimum roster requirement first. After teams meet the minimum
requirements, free agents will be distributed at random to satisfy the needs of the league.
i.e. Free agents can form their own team after all other requirements are met.

SCORING: Each game will consist of two, 20 minute halves with a 3-minute halftime. The last 2
minutes of the second half are normal, stopped clock.
OVERTIME: If the teams are tied at the end of regulation time, they will play
consecutive three minute overtime periods of running clock until an overtime period ends
with an untied score and a winner is decided. Each team is awarded an additional time-
out. In regular season only one overtime is allotted. In tournament overtime will continue
until a winner is determined.
RULES:
- TIME-OUTS: Each team is allowed one timeout per half or two time-outs per game.
Any player on the court may request a time-out when their team is in control of the ball
or during a dead ball situation; however, a time-out will not be granted when the
opposing team has possession of the ball.

- FOULS: It is the responsibility of each team to uphold the integrity of the SCB
league. Fouls are call your own as SCB does not have the ability to hire officials for
the game. To call a foul, a player must say the woiu foul such that, "I got a foul", oi
"That's a foul check up", etc. A call of "Anu 1" anu "I got one" uo not count anu
play can legally continue until the woiu "foul" is saiu. If any single player is
reported at least three times for lack of integrity, then he/she will be contacted and
met with to make sure they understand the importance of integrity. If a player has a
fourth incident following the informational meeting or does not attend the
informational meeting, he/she will be removed from the roster permanently and will
not be allowed to play in the SCB league for the remainder of the season. This rule
will be applied to a whole team as well in that regard, in which situation the captain
will be met with and it his/her responsibility to convey the issue at hand to his/her
team.
- SHOOTING FOULS: If a player is fouled while attempting a shot, there are no free
throws. If the shot is no good, the ball is returned to the top of the key for a check
ball. A FOULED SHOT THAT GOES IN COUNTS AS AN ADDED TO POINT TO
THE BUCKET.
o ie. a fouled lay-up that goes in is worth 3 pts. instead of 2 and a 3 point shot is
worth 4.

ALL INCEDENT REPORTS WILL REMAIN ANONYMOUS AND NO
NAMES WILL BE USED IN INTEGRITY MEETINGS.

-INTENTIONAL, FLAGRANT, AND TECHNICAL FOULS: Following SCBs code for
integrity, any report of an intentional foul or specifically, a report of intentional,

is KEY!

- CLOSELY GUARDED: The player in control is closely guarded when a defensive
player is in a defensive stance no more than six feet away. A player may not hold
or dribble the ball for more than five seconds if he/she is being closely guarded.

entitled to a new 5 second count.
- FREE THROW LANE: There are no free throws in the SCB league.
