Courses Fees for September 2013/14

In light of the recent changes to tuition fees, ACM would urge all prospective HE students (Higher Diploma and Degree) to read the following information which outlines how the Government has changed the way Universities are funded.

ACM Bursaries 2013

ACM is happy to announce that is has a limited number of bursaries available for students studying on the Higher Diploma and Degree programmes beginning in September 2013.

Performance Courses
In 2012, the Government removed funding for Higher Education resulting in Universities charging the full cost of a course that is capped at 9000 per student per year. Since then the majority of Universities have gone onto charge the full 9000 fee. As a private institution ACM is able to set its own fees and is not restricted by the maximum threshold set by the Government. In considering our Higher Education fees we have worked closely with our associate University (Middlesex University) to ensure our fees are commensurate with their own (and other Universities) as well as value for money whilst maintaining the highest possible standards. Through prudent management and innovation, we are able to set our Higher Education fees below the University maximum without compromising on quality. In addition to being below the University maximum ACM runs condensed Degree courses. The Degree runs for 2 years rather than the traditional 3 year courses. This means that prospective ACM Degree students only pay 2 years of tuition fees as well as only 2 years of living costs. This equates to signicant savings. Are loans available for my tuition fees and living costs?

Most of a students fee can be covered by a loan via the Student Loans Company www.slc.co.uk who will pay your fees direct to us. As ACM is a private College, the maximum amount available from the Student Loans Company to pay your fees is 6000 a year for full time students. For all students this means you will have a balance left to pay, the total of which depends on your chosen course. EU students can also apply for student loans. However, if you have previously completed a course at the same level or higher level of study you may not be able to obtain funding to support your studies and therefore you may be required to pay the full course fees. In addition students can apply for grants and loans to help with their living costs. The amount available is based on means testing (based on your family income and a number of other factors).

When do I need to start repaying my loan?

Students will begin repaying their student loan once they are in full time employment and earning OVER 21,000 per year. These loan repayments are based on 9% of your salary that is OVER the 21,000 threshold. This is taken out of your wages at source, in a similar way to Income Tax and National Insurance payments. e.g. If your salary is 25,000 a year you pay 9% of 4,000. This works out at 6.92 per week. All funding and course fee information is correct at the time of publication. ACM reserves the right to make changes or amendments without further notice.
