THE ORGANIZATION

About Enactus
Enactus is an international non-prot organization that brings together students, academics, and business leaders who are committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need. Closely guided by academic advisors and business experts, Enactus student leaders create and implement community outreach projects to empower people around the globe. Enactus projects are seen on over 1,600 University campuses in 39 different countries. Enactus students pledge to take action and commit to apply our passions, talents and ideas to impact as many lives as we can. PROJECT FLY
About Project FLY

FUTURE LEADERS INYOUTH

Project FLY, Future Leaders in Youth, is a developmental workshop series in which we aim to provide at-risk youth with the condence to tackle opportunities in areas such as employment, post-secondary education and entrepreneurship. Weve partnered with Christie Lake Kids, Youth Services Bureau and Youth Bureau in order to run the sessions for youth between the ages of 14 to 18. Project FLY includes 7 workshops, with one happening each month. In addition to an introductory leadership and concluding workshop, we will also focus on ve core business topics: nancial literacy, value of education, attaining a job, professional soft skills, and entrepreneurship. In 2012-2013, Project FLY had tremendous results! The workshop series created 1 job and helped 4 youth secure employment. Through our needs assessment and impact surveys, we found that Project FLY increased the youths interest in post-secondary education by 70% and in entrepreneurship by 80%, and knowledge of nancial literacy increased by 80%. Project FLY participants also received experiential learning through developing, and executing a coffee house that featured local talent. From the event, the youth helped raise over $2,500 from sponsors, raffle ticket sales, and ticket sales.

Project FLY's Methods

Historically, we have had tremendous success with project FLY. For example, through needs assessments and surveys, weve been able to identify the positive impact we have had on the youth within the program. By the end of last years project, we increased the youths interest in post-secondary education by 70%, entrepreneurship by 80% and nancial literacy by 80%. Not only do the youth learn directly from our workshops, but we also provide them with opportunities to put into action what theyve learned. Additionally, we have created 1 job, as well as secured 4 other jobs for the youth participating in the program. We are extremely excited to be continuing this project on a much larger scale. We are expecting to have an even larger impact this year by involving over 100 at-risk youth and even more community partners.
