he Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all

weather conditions, anywhere on or near the Earth where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. The system provides critical capabilities to military, civil and commercial users around the world. It is maintained by the United States government and is freely accessible to anyone with a GPS receiver. A GPS receiver calculates its position by precisely timing the signals sent by GPS satellites high above the Earth. Each satellite continually transmits messages that include the time the message was transmitted satellite position at time of message transmission. The receiver uses the messages it receives to determine the transit time of each message and computes the distance to each satellite using the speed of light. Each of these distances and satellites locations defines a sphere. The receiver is on the surface of each of these spheres when the distances and the satellites locations are correct. These distances and satellites locations are used to compute the location of the receiver using the navigation equations. It is used in warship, Navigation and in day to day activities of traveling. because of it precise information today GPS became a part of day to day activities. There are a number of occasions where this type of monitoring is required like atm centres banks, schools, malls and traffic. There are a number of uses of this technology. Due to easy availability of such devices there have been cases of misuses of cctv. It is usually hidden in bags or cars to monitor the activity of some planned event. People knows and infromed that they are under CCTV monitoring. They doesnt come into citizenConsidering todays security challenges in complex urban space, CCTV surveillance became a necessity. The technology employed in CCTV is very similar to that of TV broadcasting but unlike open transmission of signals , the signals are transmitted to a single or pre determined set of locations. [highly radioactive or toxic industrial environment] under observation;crime prevention.Recently, the Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs has approved the installation of CCTV and GPS [Global Positioning System] in public transport vehicles to ensure womens safety. A CCTV is usually mounted strategically with the pre-specified parameters of angle of vision and the focus it intends to cover. The image captured by the camera of a CCTV is relayed to the monitors placed in the Monitoring agency premises over a network of coaxial cables or through wireless radio communication. CCTV may be regarded as a necessary evil in as much as the primary purpose of CCTV is surveillance with the objective of maintenance of security. However there are incidental applications such as traffic-monitoring, continuous observance of certain areas beyond practical human accessibility such as radioactive industrial environments or situations requiring discreet observance of environment and biodiversity for research studies etc.The recent approval by CCEA to a scheme of Road transport Ministry to install CCTVs in Public transport for wome for India.
