POSITION TITLE: ACHIEVE Associate ORGANIZATION: Ryerson University Accounting Society (RUAS)

What is RUAS? The Ryerson University Accounting Society (RUAS) is a student led organization with the mission to provide all Accounting majors at Ryerson University with the opportunity to network with industry professionals, employers, university faculty and peers. We are the course union and voice of all Ryerson Accounting majors. The objectives of RUAS are to provide students with a better understanding of the accounting profession, to provide networking opportunities for current and prospective accounting majors, and to represent Ryersons accounting students as a whole. What is ACHIEVE? Ryerson University Accounting Society (RUAS) is proud to present the 7th annual ACHIEVE Conference and Competition in 2015. The ACHIEVE Conference and Competition (ACC) has the goal of becoming Canadas premier undergraduate Accounting conference. It has been meticulously designed to give students an amazing opportunity to demonstrate their skills in front of industry professionals as well as compete with Canadas leading and brightest Accounting students who strive to succeed! ACHIEVE participants will partake in an in-depth case study where they will be tested on their knowledge of accounting concepts while engaging and strengthening their skill sets. Additionally, delegates will be stimulated with innovative workshops and keynote addresses, executed by leaders from global organizations. More info can be found here: http://achieve.ruas.ca/ ACHIEVE Associate Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting the ACHIEVE team in organizing the ACHIEVE Conference & Competition Putting forth ideas and carrying out tasks and goals set out by the team, for the conference Facilitating communications with students and faculties of other universities across Canada Representing RUAS as an associate and providing information to students upon inquiries Providing overall support with planning RUAS events throughout the year and assistance with sponsor events, including Big 4 firms, CPA Ontario, CGA Ontario, Robert Half and CICBV Requirements: Enrolled as (or aspire to be) an Accounting major at Ryerson University in the Accounting & Finance or Business Management program, preferably students going into 2nd or 3rd year. Strong leadership skills to represent Accounting majors as a RUAS associate Excellent communication skills to present ideas clearly and concisely, while listening actively Strong work ethic, proven project management abilities to handle changing priorities and workloads Ability to think innovatively about ideas, insights and information An aptitude to build relationships that create value and enhance quality Willingness to learn, grow and excel in a student group environment How to Apply: Please submit your cover letter, resume, and application form (below) in ONE document (PDF or Word) to achievecc2015@gmail.com.
