Essential Qualification for Professor: A. (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research papers. (ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college and/or experience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level. (iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technologymediated teaching learning process. (iv) A minimum score (400 points from Category-III of APIs) as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), as per UGC norms. OR B. An outstanding professional with established reputation in the relevant field who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials. Essential Qualification for Associate Professor: i) Good academic record as defined by the University with a Ph.D. degree in concerned/ allied/ relevant discipline. ii) A Masters Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed). iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/ industry excluding the period of Ph. D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers. iv) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students. v) A minimum score (300 points from Category-III of APIs) as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), as per UGC regulations. Note: UGC norms regarding Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) will be available along with application form. Candidate shall provide total scores in the appropriate positions of the application form. Essential Qualification for Assistant Professor: i) Good academic record with at least 55% marks at Masters Degree level in relevant subject or an equivalent degree from an Indian/ Foreign University. ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for lecturers conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or similar test accredited by the UGC. Notwithstanding anything contained in the sub-clauses. (i) and (ii) to Clause 4.4.2.1 of UGC Regulation-2010, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities / Colleges /Institutions. iii) NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for Masters Programmes in such disciplines also for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

General Instructions to the Candidates: 1. No application except in prescribed Application Form will be considered. 2. A person working in Govt. / Semi-Govt. / Public Sector undertaking must apply through proper channel. 3. Incomplete application will not be entertained. 4. University authority will not be responsible for any postal delay. 5. No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for attending the interview. 6. Application fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances. 7. The University shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate at any time at the time of appointment or during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by the candidates are fake or the candidate has a clandestine antecedents/background and has suppressed the said information, then his services shall be terminated. 8. The University reserves the right not to fill up the post advertised if the circumstances so warrant. 9. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of appointment letter, the University reserves the right to modify/ withdraw/ cancel any communication made to the candidates. 10. In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the competent authority shall be final. 11. If any candidate is recommended for appointment in relaxation of any of the prescribed conditions relating to age, experience etc, it shall be so stated and recorded. 12. The prescribed qualifications and experience will be minimum and the mere fact that a candidate possessing the same will not entitle him for being called for interview. The University will have the

right to restrict the candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable number on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed or by any other condition that may deem fit. 13. In cases of any disputes any suites or legal proceedings against the University, the jurisdiction shall be restricted to the Calcutta High Court.

Holidays, during 11:00 a.m. to 03:00 p.m.) on payment of Rs.1000/- (Rupees One Thousand) for the post of Professor [Rs.500/- for SC/ST/BC], Rs.800/- (Rupees Eight Hundred) for the post of Associate Professor [Rs.400/- for SC/ST/BC] and Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred) for the post of Assistant Professor [Rs.250/- for SC/ST/BC] in cash at the University Cash Counter. The Application Form, given below, may also be downloaded from this webpage (www.ugb.ac.in). The downloaded filled- in Application Form must be accompanied by requisite fee as Bank Draft payable at UBI, Netaji Market Branch, Malda drawn in favour of the University of Gour Banga. The filled- in Application Form in 5 (five) sets with attested copies of all necessary documents along with two self - addressed unstamped envelope of 25 x 13 cms. size must reach the Office of the Registrar, UNIVERSITY OF GOUR BANGA, P.O.: Mokdumpur, Dist. MALDA, West Bengal 732103, INDIA on or before March 4, 2014 (within 03:00 p.m.).
