Overall Review of the Case

The case titled FUELING THE PROCESS is all about the ins and outs of the endeavor of Kristien Schaffner, who was the founder owner of Team Petroleum. As she was a stay-at-home mom and money was tight in the family, she need to do something for earning her livestock. She was born in such a family, which own a fuel business. And she grabbed the opportunity and utilized the knowledge of fuel business to make it on her own. Schaffner crucially analyzed the scope and threats in running the business successfully and utilized the knowledge on her business. From the analysis of the SWOT, we have seen that, she utilized the opportunity of her background successfully, but needed to face the weakness of having the shortage of capital and resources. Again, she had the opportunity of using computerized fuel tanks and customer consumption with a threat of Competitors enough capital resources, declining industry profit, less manpower, price wars and ever changing technology. The most challenging part of HR planning of Team Petroleum is to match demand and supply of human resource. Rightsizing is the best strategy linking staffing level to organizational goals according to the situation. Succession planning initiatives by Schaffner-Irvin was played a vital role for the company success. Some of them are the personal involvement of her, accountability, commitment of self-development, focuses on customers long-term needs, Strategic planning and so on. Ultimately, the overall involvement and activities was the root of Team Petroleums success.

Possible Problems &Recommendations


After analyzing the case of Team Petroleum, we have detect some possible problems such as attack of malicious software, hacking and computer crime, internal user threat, software vulnerability because of using computerized delivery activities. They have the shortage of resources and capital as well. Again, they are facing the problem of having competitors, enough capital resources, declining industry profit, less manpower, price wars and ever changing technology.
